Do bike dealers do things like 1 year no repayments and no intrest? I see heaps for cars and even at places like harvey normans but none for bikes. Seems a bit strange to me.

Well you'd get cheap finance cause you write one off each year and get the Insurer's to pay you some dosh....

some can and do,all depends how much profit there is or isnt in the sale, most new bikes only have between 12.5% and 18%profit in it for the dealers whereas a lot of furniture etc has much more, most bike shops require about a third deposit because the hire purchase is done on full recourse meaning if you dont pay the repayments the dealer is stuck with the repo and accrued interest,so if you want to buy a new bike for $10000(the dealer would make about $1000 profit on this)with no deposit and no interest or payments for one year, the dealer would have to pay the finance company over $1000 in interest alone for the year with no payments and the whole deal would not be worth getting out of bed for
