Hi everyone,
So here's the thing, i know next to nothing about bikes BUT I want to learn esp about the mechanics of bikes. I figure the best way for me to do that is buy a old bike that is running well and I can tinkle about with. Looking for a bike over 250cc rating, yes I know starting off I should go for something like a suzuki Gn250, but from what i can see people only keep it for a year then they want to upgrade. Plus I'm not a little person and I think big people look ridiculous on a smaller bike. So I'd like something a bit bigger that I will learn the ropes slowly with and keep for longer. Would like a road type bike and like the more upright sitting bikes, also like older bikes too. So can anyone in Canterbury help me out? Ah the other catch, only looking to pay about $1000, so obviously not gonna get a squecky clean bike but hopefully one that doesn't need major mechanical work and has a straight body. Been looking in Buy/sell paper and trademe but nothin out there. This Motorcycle Imports Direct place has a classic action auction coming up, are they are good place that I might find something?
