Are there any people here that smoke (tobacco only)
Just remember the yamaha building at Paul In NZ's and i was the only smoker. (put my butts in my boot so as not to wreck the garden and lawn)
does anyone stop for a "smoko" on rides? or just wait till a stop?
just wondered :whocares:

Guilty, but do not as a rule have spacific "Smoko" stops, just wait till everyone has a stop.Either gas or pub stop, occassionaly stretch the legs stop, just whenever I guess.

I've tried it, but I don't like the taste, or anything else about it. Besides, for one pack, you can half, or even completely fill your bikes tank
And now that I think of it, I don't really drink either. I used to, but I don't enjoy the taste of just about anything out there. When I find something I do like, I'll take it up again :drinknsin
Hehe, boy am I one hip 20-something
But we all have our vices I guess.

well I used to smoke until getting pregnant with baby #1, gave it up, glad I did, smokes were $1.57 for a packet of winfield red back in those days, when I smoked I used to light up as soon as work was finished, so I'd flip my visa up and ride really slow on my way home cos I had been hanging out all day, (my boss wouldn't even let me light up at lunchtimes and smoko's) even so my fag would always end up burnt up on one side and untouched on the other.

Been offered a smoke but I don't think it's worth it.

Yep I smoke, not very much.
I find if your out on a really good ride and having a ball there's nothing like parking up somewhere with a view, cause this country has too many world class views to list, have a smoke (tobacco) and think about nothing for a while.
Usually I'm the same as Mongoose, wait till everybody stops or just a leg stretch stop.

Yup. I smoke, but it doesn't make me feel guilty in any way, shape or form. :p
Umm, as to stops while out on the bike, I tend to stop for other things, like petrol, or leg stretch, or bum feeling rediscovery, or food, but rolling a smoke is one of the first things I do. I can go a couple of hours no problem without a break when I'm on the bike. And I can get through a movie (even the 3 hour LotR's movies) or several hours at a time at work, or gossiping & dinner at mum's without getting any cravings, so ner.

Nope. With my Scots heritage (no, it's not a rare Harley) I figure that even if I only smoked a packet a week the cost for a year would be more than my rego, oil/filter changes per year - and still leave change for fuel for a week or two.

.
.Smoking (of any substance) most definitely ain't my thing, and never has been. Don't mind other people doing it, just so long as I don't have to breath in the smoke.
Very few that we ride with smoke (just as it happens, not planned that way). If they do, they light up at a coffee stop.

What?

Used to, but got sensible about 16 years ago. Just as well, too. Aside from the health issues, my final rate would cost me $100 a week these days.

Ditto. I cant stand it. Boy I cant wait till the smokefree laws arrive in december for pubs/bars. Then I might actually go out again. Fucked if im going to subject myself to other people stinkbreath.
If anyone smokes anywhere near my property they'll get a smack upside the head.
Wish it was banned completely.

Yep I agree. I can't stand the filthy habit and the addictive behaviour bullshit
that goes with it.
Or you are halfway through a conversation and they just HAVE to
go outside and have a smoke
I hate the inconsideration of smokers around non smokers - go bugger your own lungs and throat not ours thank you. When a smoker whos had a smoke
comes into my office for a few seconds and goes out, I can't get rid of the after stink for about 15 minutes

Baccy smoke. Yuck. Being married to an asthmatic makes you very aware of it, too. Sarah's pretty bad; anybody smoking within about 50 metres sets her off.
I can't WAIT for the 'no smoking in bars' law to kick in. We might actually be able to GO to some occasionally.

Must agree, there are many ignorant smokers out there, why, I used to be one. Although I smoke I do respect others wishes in that if its a smoke free home it stays that way when I am there. Like some others have said it is not a problem when visiting, at work or riding, its just not an issue.
BUT give a man a guts full of beer and judgement can fly out the window. Even still I do not smoke in a non-smokers house even when drinking.

Last time I visited with my friends whom smoke, I went outside when they lit up!!
Even then, when I got home, I could smell the smoke in my clothes. YUCK.
