Hello,
Does anyone happen to have any knowledge or a wiring diagram somewhere for a Mongoose Striker MCA500 Motorbike Alarm?
Mine was installed by the Mechanic I usually use; however they chickened out on the Remote Start and I am not very keen hooking it up without knowing I have connected the Neutral Gear Sensor Thing. (Which ever wires they are).
There appears to be loads of talk about these alarms on the forums if you do a search; unfortunately no technical info
Cheers

I have this on my bike and was told that the starter remote is more trouble than it is worth so you may want to reconsider........that is what the starter button is for!!

I like things to work to the best of there ability; chances are I won't use it...
But there are times where it would look real cool for people to see the bike start itself and then the rider to walk up to it jump on and take off!!! :P
Sometimes I wish there was a way for it to drop me off at the doors of the supermarket and park itself; but I think I have been watching to much Night Rider! HAHA

Oh 'Stanley' you still have to put key in ignition so you cannot just jump on and take off,
Well if you want dropping off etc outside the supermarket just crash outside, you will get dropped off and I am sure the bike will find it's own spot...he he

I fitted the remote start to my last bike, there was one wire that routed to the starter switch on the handle bar. Another went to the back of the ignition barrel.
As long as I had the kill switch switched 'on' one button press and the bike started. Did not need key in the ignition - thats what that wire does! But make sure your 'neutral light switch' works! or your bike will take off down the road!

Depends on the alarm of course, but mine had a wire that went to the back of the ignition barrel that put 12v to the ignition system when you press the remote. Then when you press it again, it sends 12v to the starter switch for 5 seconds to start the bike. Only prob I had was when the bike was cold it would sometimes need a longer period of 'starter' to start the bike - and you could not adjust it. But on a modern, well maintained bike that starts everytime easily it would not be a problem.

Buy the looks of the Mongoose MCA500 Manual it needs the key in the ignition within 5 Minutes. Tomorrow I wire it in so will see how much of a mess I can make of it! :)
