Bugger. Looking out of the window and thinking to myself, it's too nice a riding day to be stuck in here.
House is a tip and the rellies arrive in a couple of days. Rooms not ready for them and I'm back to work tomorrow. Wife's in England and I'm here with 2 teenagers who are no help at all. I want to go for a ride :crybaby:
The only plus is that I know the hill will be chaotic with the holiday traffic returning to Wellingtoon so I will resign myself to sorting the house and live in hope that a) the weather gods are with us for next weekend. b) I can sneak away from the rellies for the newbie ride on Sunday.
Me thinks a suggestion for them to visit TePapa on Sunday is in order.

Oh, I feel for you i really do. And you're right, the hill is busy, my hands are sore from riding down so slowly, cops everywhere too!

Hehe, so you picked up on that!
Ummm, it's cool, I took it for a ride and I'm really angry at myself at how quickly I got used to it, especially in the corners  , I got back on mine and it felt like a big comfy armchair with bad springs! But he loves it, so that's the main thing!

With the amount of time I've spent on here today, I could have been out for a ride. I keep doing bits and pieces around the house and then coming back on here for 10 mins. Put all the 10 mins together and it adds up to over 2 hours.
This place is taking over my life. Help!

Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

I didn't ride today either. BUT I did do bike related work. I stripped Str8's carbs cleaned and generally tidied them with adjusting them too much, lubed her throttle cable and released the choke cable now it's freaking good.

I went for a quick fang on the FXDX I used for the ACC film.
Just to the top of 'The Hill' and back. Was a f*cking fantastic day for it!
Here's something I've noticed since I've been riding HD's a fair bit lately.....
I wave to ever other bike I see.....and you know what?
F*ck all return the wave! Most here claim that HD riders never wave.......well funny that. It seems that most won't wave if they realize it's a Harley....even if I've waved first!

*sigh* Yeah, me too.
No bike for me til 1) the insurance pays out and 2) my tax rebate turns up, whenever that might be (first time I've filled out a tax return and first time I've been in rebate territory. No idea how long it takes).
The way the insurance company are going, it's anyone's guess who will be first - IRD or TOWER!

Hey Pete I'm finding these days that while I've always waved at all bikes, scooters included, the Harley boys are waving back most of the time and I think that is cool and Mrs merv notices it too. She reckons that now you sell Harleys to all these guys having mid-life crises and they love the attention.
The arrogant pricks are sometimes the sportsbike riders and mainly those on foreign European stuff - that's my observation.
So don't worry if you see my VFR coming towards you or our dirt bikes, you'll get a wave mate.
p.s. You hanging onto your licence OK now? Did you get that last case thrown out or not?

I'll wave to everyone unless I'm too busy hanging on!
I'm going to court 23rd of this month....but it's only the 'preliminary' hearing, so they'll adjourn it. Another waste of time.
One thing that's been brought to my attention since that fateful day is this,
they detained me illegally. They have the power to stop you on the side of the road for no reason whatsoever (as they did....I was doing the legal speed limit when they pulled me over, and for that matter, all day!), but they have no right whatsoever to make you wait there while the patrol car that allegedly 'clocked' you going the other way comes back to 'indentify' you by your "multi coloured helmet".......They can check your wof, your reg, your licence details...and even breath test you. But UNLESS you're under arrest for something....you're then free to go. If I'd know that....or was told that....I would've simply said "later guys.......I'm in a hurry..!":scooter:

This is important information to know and will be filed away in my tiny little brain for future reference as it may come in handy when I'm on the back of his lordships rocketship (don't think I ride fast enough on my little GPX to need it when I'm out by myself).
