View Full Version : Recommend a make of brake pad for zx9r?

my front brake pads are in need of changing and wondering peoples thoughts on any particular brand that they favour? Cost Vs performance Vs durability?

Or are they all pretty much the same?

Boy, that question is right up there with "what's the best beer?"...

I have always liked SBS pads, but I'll bet there's some here who will rubbish them. There are pads out there that grip the disc really well, but wear out at a frightening rate, and there's some that last forever. Best you go Googling for some comparison tests.

I always use EBC. No particular reason other than I've never ever had any sort of problem with EBC pads and rotors. Not that I've tried many others.

I always seem to use Vesrah, most because that's what my bike shop stocks. Any known brand ought to be good enough, much unlike beer I would have thought?

oh well. brought some sintergrip pads from freddysdiscs for $90. will see how good they work when they get into the bike.

put the sintergrip pads in the front of the biek today. The old pads could have done another few trips but might as well change them while I had the chance. Massive improvement in braking. Real grippy which is nice to know.

Interesting to note that I am not a mechanic and have not had 20 years in the industry and yet I managed to put them in the right way around.

I have always liked SBS pads,
i like th em to. but my discs dont..

i prefer non-sintered pads, i don't really care about the brand.
