What are the pro's and cons of an RGV150?

When do they generally need a rebuild?

How often do they need to be serviced & at what cost?

What things do I need to look out for?

Cheers in advance :scooter:

RG150's (the better version of the RGV150) are pretty darn good... they are the ones with proper wheels (not spoked ones). I didn't have any problems with mine. Although at that age, just check all the pipes that involve the radiator, as mine had cracks in the overflow pipe, and all the water went away one night...

I agree with Zero Index, I had an RG150 and sold it at 23,000kms without any trouble. You could wring the nuts off it and it always came back for more! I always though the RGV was a bit too girly for me...

My RG150 had 31000kms on it, and i don't think it had a rebuild cause my friend owned it from 7000kms, and just always ran Castrol TTS or Castrol R2 2-stroke oil in it. Never had any engine related problems from the day I owned it till I sold it... only thing i ever did was change the spark plug...

Hey mate so long as you maintain the oil and fuel and keep it running right then you wont need rebuild I have one of these its an awsome bike, standered gearing kinda revvy at 100K's

Rings at ~15 thousand kms. Piston at around 20-25 thousand.

Sure you can not bother but don't condemn all 2strokes when it goes CLUNK in a big way.
