Anyone know if these are available in NZ

I have a gUy in the states offering to sell me one for $45US + $13.50US shipping (Yes I trust him).

I am getting the 14mm plug set and these basically hook up to your sparkplug and you set the mixture on the carbs based on the colour of the spark.

PM me if you're interested in getting a set because it's only a few bucks extra on the shipping per additional set.

Basically I want to know if I can get them over here at similar cost.

Cheers

P.S. These are the details he sent me about the different sizes.

I was lent a version of these, to help adjust mixture after re-jetting. But was then told you need leaded fuel for the colour-tune plugs to work properly. I guess Avgas or race fuel could be used to get the lead.
I ended up getting my bike dynoed, which is much more accurate anyway.

Congratulations on the XJ restoration - looks & sounds better than new.

Does the plug actually fire? If not, they are obviously unuseable for singles?

Yep the plug fires and the Colortune shows by the colour of the spark if it's running too rick or too lean

Most motors in the last 30 years are lean burn, you will only see a lean mixture with the Colour Tune (fuck the yank spelling) So only really useful on old school engines and lawnmowers.

my 83 XJ900 is running rich as hell and I don't have the $$$ to get it put on a dyno so I'm looking for a cheaper solution :)

Have a look on some of the spark plug manufacturers sites as they have diagnostic pictures for reading plugs, in fact I think someone posted the pics here within the last week. (Drum - fuel & exhaust systems0

Just wondering how you guys did with the dyno, if it happened etc.

Looking at sorting out my mixture on the zxr, and maybe fitting a new filter of some sort, as it feels like its a bit choked.

Never quite happened, as I was away for graduation, then so was he.
Dyno is still here, if anyone wants to play. Be better once the floodwaters recede a bit...
