So I've heard a bit of talk about heavier flywheels lately for your MX'r.

To my understanding it would mellow out teh power and stop it from stalling so easy?

What are they worth?
Is it a worth while mod?

they seem to be about $180-200

ArcherWC just installed a Stealthy one a couple of weeks ago and loves it. Easy to install also. I'll get one for mine in a few weeks i think.

I have used them before and I think that they are good in the mud etc.
You don't lose any power, it just come on the pipe a bit slower so you can control it easier.

It just gives you a bit more time (1/4-1/2 a second) to save it when you lose traction in a big way.
Sort-of takes the sting out of the power when it hits hard and when it comes on the pipe.

I haven't heard of anyone that does not like them as they are good here in NZ with our mud.
On the dry tracks you don't need them as much, but most can not be bothered to take them off, as you can do that with out much trouble.

I design my own ,,,easy to do and about 150 to machine ..cheaper if you know people ...you don't lose any power but in the tight bits just carry s more inertia , so doesn't stall as easy ... Though flicking the clutch doesn't carry the same benefits ,,,

Depends on the bike and conditions really. First up fit your heavy duty tubes and try retarding the timing slightly. Many modern day MX'rs are smooth enough with retarding the timing a bit. I've thought about it a few times but after tuning the jetting and timing don't think its neccessary for me. Other bikes maybe different. Depends on the power delivery.

yeah well worth it if you are going to use it in tight stuff (like convict track woodhill) or some of the trail rides round the place, if your sticking with motox only and your any good I would not bother.

about NZ$180.00, and its easy you can do it yourself.

Well I think I'll get one then.

But first, I got to get a bike...
