View Full Version : Papakura rape didn't happen

Well, the woman who claimed to have been raped by someone posing as a detective has been charged by police with making a false complaint.
In the words of the lead cop "It simply didn't happen"
Not only has this wasted the police's time (at least they weren't looking for bikers to ticket), but it has made a mockery of women who are attacked for real.
I hope she is given the psych help she so desperately needs.

I said to my wife this morning.....''how the hell do you pose as a Detective''??
Do they have a certain way of standing?....do they look different than everybody else?
The said 'poser' would have just been a guy in a suit....OMG..thats so unusal.

Apparently, he just said he was a cop. Didn't show any ID.
And yes, was wearing a suit. Which, I guess at mid-afternoon in suburban Papakura is unusual

It is rather horrible she made it up.
I know two teenage girls (15ish) who went into town, met a group of guys in public toilets and claimed to have been raped by them. Said that one of them was raped by four of the guys and the other friend made to watch...then they did her.
They went to the police, told their story and then the police went looking for the guys.
Turns out the girls did meet guys, yet went up to their house and had drinks, one of them had sex with one of the guys (she is a slapper) and then the other was turned down... so they felt bad so made the story up!
The things people to do to get attention aye! (They had both run away from home/kicked out of home)

There was recently a case in the States where a woman said she had been raped by 3 Duke University Lacrosse players. These guys got kicked out of college, had job offers withdrawn and generally had their lives torn apart. The charges have since been dropped and the woman has been charged with making a false complaint (and the district attorney has been sacked). Turns out she was just a slapper and felt bad about it the following morning (after the walk of shame I guess)

Thank God it didn't happen!

Not mind games DD, (though it is difficult to have any sympathy) this person is obviously very unwell...............terrible thing to make up an accusation.... and to name him as a person we should trust is unforgivable no matter how unwell
Now how many rape victims will a) not be believed or b) Think that they won't be believed because of this...
Yep, no doubt will have a flow on effect, though this "complaint" got a huge investigation underway by the Police, they did not disbelieve at all.......

I am simply angry! I agree with you, though my words were a bit different to yours, what a shocking thing, and that is what we all should be thinking, this female is not well, and hopefully the fall out from this stupidity will not have any lasting effect.........I am sure it wont!

One of the teachers at my old school in Marlborough apparently had rape charges brought up against him by a female student, turns out she got the inspiration from Home and Away (this is 10-ish years ago at an intermediate school). I'm guessing it would have been a pretty close shave for him as in those kinds of situations the defendant is usually considered guilty until proven otherwise.
As people have said, this recent case really has had an adverse effect on all the victims of rape charges - be them genuine rape victims or innocent defendants. Sad day.

Also, mud sticks. So even when he was vindicated, a certain percentage of the population (usually loud, old women with many cats, most on leashes) will continue to talk and spread rumours.

Can't remember what year it was, but within the last 3, where just over 400 sexual assualt charges were found to be false in one year. Over 400 people had their lives turned upside down.

do you pose as a Detective''??
Watch 1950-1960 cops movies, dress in trenchcoats, wear cheesecutter hats and say "bub" and "sucker" and do annoying voice overs talking about your latest clues and how they match up.....

It's obviously a conspiracy - shortly after some high profile rape cases against the cops, and a supposedly damning report we get this.
The cops set this woman up, making her tell this story so that Patricks question will get asked and all these insane women on the news screaming for rickards blood will start to doubt the cause.

It happens an awful lot, much more than most people would ever believe. Which is why the hysteria following the Rickards etc rape trials is so dangerous.
