First rules of theft – don’t leave any evidence and avoid the police.
It would appear no-one explained this to Olegs Krjukovskis, 24, a Latvian living in Limerick in Ireland. First off, when he stole a motorbike, he rode through a Gardae (police) checkpoint – almost knocking over an officer.
Compounding stupidity with more stupidity, he abandoned the bike and ran off… leaving behind a bag containing his passport, a CV and a cheque for €200.
When Krjukovskis went to Roxboro Garda Station to claim his property, he was promptly arrested and confessed to theft of a motorbike, dangerous driving and failing to stop for gardai.
Sentence is to be announced.

In the "We are the World" sidebar of the herald motoring, it said some guy in the US somewhere, stole a snowmobile from a shop. He took it back the next day for servicing :weird: obviously he was arrested...
