Regretfully I will be overseas by this time and will therefore be unable to make it.

However, Allan (Kiwifruit) is gonna be looking after my bike gear and I'm happy for any of the familys to use it (there's small size gear there as well).

Also Dale, I know you were looking at getting a bike, tho I don't know your riding experience. But Allan's also gonna be babysitting my bike for me, so if you'd like a bike to ride for the day then you are welcome to it.

cheers

Hi Mark....thanks for your most generous offer. However unless you have extremely comprehensive insurance it may not be a good idea! Am still looking around - will finally decide after the inquest and some other stuff is sorted. Will also need to contact Dave at Waikato Motorcycles (?) cos he has very kindly offered to help me choose. Enjoy yourself overseas, remember where home is....ie don't forget to return to the land of your roots(?!!!) Cheers, Dale

Would have been keen as mustard to do the track day. Got for the first time in two years a full and comprehensive policy from my insurers Vero via Mr GoLightly stating that I am uninsured for ANY track days.

Given I am the slowest ass out there and never dropped my bike in 7 track days I am kinda leaning to stay away from putting me and the bike on a track day more is the pity.

Our family’s would just like to touch base with everyone regards to this track day as the time grows nearer. Firstly thank you to everyone who has already volunteered to help out on this day. Every bit of help is much appreciated.

Our main objective for this day is for all of Bruce and Daryl’s good friends and family to be able to get together for a fun day to pay ‘tribute’ to two awesome guys taken tragically far too soon and to help each other remember the GOOD times, we all had with them.

Memorial ceremonies will be held to a bare minimum but both families are more than happy for any one and / or groups of friends who may wish to contribute something personal during this day.

Allan Ure (Kiwifruit) has been a huge help to our family’s in getting this day organised. Thanks so much Allan. He has a copy of the proposed fun program which include’s plenty of amateur stunting (something both the boys loved to a passion) but hopefully something for everyone, if anyone wants to add or contribute anything to the program for the day all ideas would be more than welcome. Either PM us or Allan.

Entry for this day is by DONATION only, We are not out to make a profit or even worried about breaking even, and will happily pick up any short fallings financially on the day if necessary.

This day is all about having fun in a safe environment, and to remember all the good things about these two awesome men.

See you all there and remember our prime aim is to have fun.

Have donated a little to the fund though as I'm sure every little bit helps :D

Hope you all have a fanTAZtic time.

... on Tuesday 4 December there is an opportunity to make a case directly to the Transport Community as they are having a Road Safety Barrier Systems Workshop at the Suncourt Motel!

We believe this is maybe the best opportunity ever to get close to the decision-makers. The thread is here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=59471.

Many of us are riding up especially from Wellington or Auckland just to make the most of the opportunity to raise the awarenes. If you can afford an extra night or two in town, we'd appreciate your support.

yes the really really fast group....also known as the put all the honda in one group and put all thier sessions at the end so the back straight doesnt go like pukekohe and not stay straight.

EDIT: this includes fags on k7 gixxer thous with race fit exhausts....

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but if anyone is going from Welly and has room for a 400 and some spares, I need to get a bike up to Taupo.

Yeah I also need to butt in to ask if anyone could bring my GN up (sounds like you have to eat it first eh...) from Pukerua Bay to either Taupo or Raetihi (or Ohakune) basically anywhere closer to here. Wanganui would do also.

Then I could come to the trackday but also to the Cheesecutter ride on Tuesday.

Thanks

This is an excellent cause, good on everyone for participating!

I just stopped by to pay my respects to these two legends, their memory lives on in my heart and I often pause to think about the riding time we shared. Such a tragedy.

Have a great trackday, and those of you who are able to pop a few mono's for the lads! :Punk:

Check with your broker about cover for this trackday. The day is being run in conjunction with motoTT. There will be riders on hand to provide tips and training if you require, let us know :)

I doubt anyone will be covered for the stunt group.

if you are direct through star or swan, check with them.... as a broker, Dave has an arrangemnt for his clients to be covered by these agencies and he suggested if you deal direct, to contact them to see....
as Allan said, there will be national and club level racers available for training if required... i dont mind helping where i can and i'm sure Jay wont mind showing a few of us how to "back it in"....

Today was so freakin' awesome :D Big THANKS to all who organised it and ran it - you did a fab job :first:

It was also a pleasure to meet Bruce and Daryl's mums and the Evans family. Those who organised everything put on a damn good day and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The pizza and prizes were fab and the lunch time activites were a nice touch. I was also lucky enough to score a back protector as the prize for my boot toss (thanks Quazi!) Lucky considering it's the one piece of gear I didn't already own :niceone:

On a personal note, I achieved everything I set out to do today and that was to use my brakes. I wasn't concerned with speed or lines etc, my only goal was to gain confidence and I definitely did.

Another high for me was watching Sam Love out and about riding our 600. That young man can ride and it was awesome seeing the Gixxer out there being ridden as it's meant to.

All in all, it was a bloody good day out and the company was even finer

Frenchy rocked:niceone: All the K7 riders gave a good show lol.:banana:

As the fuit said ...
http://www.sepiamutiny.com/sepia/archives/Borat_happy_time.jpg

From my point of view the day went very, very well. We had a couple of minor problems (slow group got mixed in with the fast group after an accident brought out the red flag so had to put the chequered out and restart the fast guys, a bar end fell off Nicksta's bike causing a red flag, and there were 3 spills, none serious), we only had 2 marshalls for the day (besides me and fruity) and there were people from the car crowd on the small track on our RT channel so not all the instructions got through.

BUT, everyone got at least 5 sessions, the stunt sessions were fan-farken-tastic, the lunch time activities rocked hard, we had a truckload of prizes to hand out, and it was funny as fuck black flagging people for naughtiness and making them do push up's as punishment.

We managed to fit in a hell of a lot in 1 track day, had less crashes than any other track day I know of and just had lots of fun.

Big thanks to:
kiwifruit & Sue VFR from Moto TT (huge thanks to these 2 especially)
The families of both Daryl and Bruce for lunch and also covering any shortfall
Nicksta & Bev for the ride and room at the motel
Cowpoos and Boomer for being entertaining MC's from hell
Big Dog & Mad Duck for showing up and spending all day out in the hot, hot sun
Olivia for dropping off and picking up the marshalls all day
Both families, Sportsbike & Quasimoto for the prizes
The guys (and girl) that took part in the stunt sessions
and everyone that turned up and rode (or even just spectated) today

I was glad to be associated with the event.

I finally lost my track virginity yesterday. I can't think of a more fitting day for it to have happened on. I had an absolute blast cruising about in the medium and slow groups and getting my head around the whole 'superbike on a racetrack' thing.

Steve, I owe you one bro, thanks for lending me your R1 for the day!

Many thanks to the families for making it happen, and props to Allan and Sue from MotoTT for their organisational expertise. A top-notch job done by all.

:2thumbsup

My final memory of the day is of an empty pit lane in the late afternoon sunshine, and the two small kids who were standing there, jumping and laughing as their balloons wafted up into the blue sky over the racetrack.

Stuck out in "Marshall-no-mans-land" we kind of missed a lot of the atmosphere BUT the "wohoos" from the guys coming around lining up to do the stunting sessions was enough to put a damn big smile on my face!

Huge thanks to MadDuck, and Big Dog for standing out in the marshal boxes allllllll day. Cowpoos, White Trash and boomer for the priceless commentary.... really gave the day a great atmosphere. Mental-Trousers for holding it all together, the level headed voice of reason.
Thank you SueVFR (Mum) for your help, really was invaluable.
Thank you Peggy, Steve, Jenie and Dale. Was a real honour to be involved with you all to make this happen.

Thank you to the riders. I've never seen such well a behaived group at a trackday. Was awesome to see you all having such a good time. I saw alot of improvement in alot of you throughout the day, Dale and the lady on the blue SV most notably so. The stunt group went really well, some wicked skills on display there guys.

The lunchtime games were a laugh! Barbender = animal steel, that tyre throw was inspired.
The pizza hit the spot! Yum :)

I couldn't have hoped for a better day, everything went so well.
Thank you everyone.
Was a great tribute to the boys.
