I was trying to find someone else's thread to post this in, as I didn't think it warranted starting a thread of its own , but never mind...
I was not feeling the best this morning (late night fixing a burst pipe in the ceiling above Dave's bed - the fourth leak in the last few months!), getting over a head cold and possible mild concussion, so I was taking it very easy going to work. No speeding, only minor wheelies, that sort of thing. Plus there seeemd to be an abnormally large number of Monday Morning Morons. No point in pushing my luck, tempting fate with the evilly vindictivbe biker gods, that sort of thing.
Nearly at work, I pull up to a stop sign to turn left, and the F&*$wit in the car behind me runs into the back of me! So of course, I just laugh, shake my head, give him a wave... NOT!!
I yelled (to myself, inside my helmet) "WTF??! You fuckin dickhead?!?" and flicked down the side stand to check out the damage and inflict some on the car driver. (I was not happy, to put it mildly).
My right muffler is parked right through the remains of his left indicator, and apart from a bit of paint on my tyre and the muffler end, there's no signs of damage to my bike. Thank goodness for those stupidly over-engineered Sankei mufflers! If they'd been aftermarket ones, it would have been rooted for sure. So, while the car driver's parking his car to have a chat, I climbed back on the seat, clicked it into gear, and took off. I figured the damage to his car (headlight(?), bumper(?) and a totally trashed indicator) was possibly sufficient disincentive to stop him following so closely and treating stop signs as "Slow down" signs.
I hope.... but then again, he is a D'Auckland car driver.

I hope.... but then again, he is a D'Auckland car driver.:wacko:Man you've had a rough run lately...seems to be a pattern emerging? Sounds like you need a track day or two to blow away the cobwebs of road riding!
Oh, and I take it that you're not a true Aucklander in heart by your D'Auck comments? Where are you from originally?

Yeah, I would be worried about bruising to the tyre.

It hasn't really been your month, has it?
My sympathies, dude. Well done for not dragging him out of the car, beating him senseless, cutting out his still-beating heart and shoving it down his windpipe.

Hope it all works out mate. You just have to love Monday mornings. It's amazing how much damage a bike can inflict on the front of a car. Real  shame.Fortunately most drivers down here in the capital seem to be reasonably alert.
Cheers

Mate!! I hope you've had this year's share of bad luck/MMM abuse.Me too. But both of the 'incidents' were stupidity: the last one mine, and this one, Mr PotatoHead's.
make sure ya go over bike with fine tooth comeYeah, I probably should have, but the muffler looks OK, and hopefully the tyre/rim isn't damaged. It seems OK. I'm glad I don't have a rear mudguard....
Oh, and I take it that you're not a true Aucklander in heart by your D'Auck comments? Where are you from originally?Nup. I'm from all over (Rotorua, Hamilton, Christchurch, Tauranga, Auckland). That's in order of living there, but in order of time spent in each one (least to greatest) it would be: Christcurch, Tauranga, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua.
I think my heart belongs in the South Island, where my Dad's family came from.
Mongoose/Devil/Pwalo and others: Thanks for your kind wishes. It wasn't actually that big a deal (although if he'd been going faster, it could have been). Heh - when I got to work, and went through my email, I had one with a link to a guy on a FireStorm who was out for a group ride. Long story short, they were being hassled by a guy in a pickup, who ended up ramming the guy on the VTR, who was tail-end Charlie. He ended up with his bike wedged in the front of the pickup, upright, with the tyre stuck between the bumper and the road, locked up (so it wore ALL the tread off, down into the carcase. Bent up the pipes (D&Ds), the rear subframe, and broke the rear lights/indicators and plastic. When the truck/bike hybrid came to a smokey stop, the rider got off, opened the driver's door, and punched him HARD in the head a few times. The cops ticketed the driver, and let him go (but not in his pickup...)
I've deleted the email, but I'll see if I can find pix - it was very weird, but the rider was lucky he wasn't injured, as he was doing about 110km/h when hit...
