Finally! Got back from the UK on Wednesday after four months away. Hooned into town on the bike today to get a new warrant and another year rego, just insurance to go and I'm all sussed :) Not much jet lag to speak of either which is nice. Unfortunately I don't really have much internet access atm which is a pain in the arse... but if anyone in Christchurch is keen for a bit of a cruise (has to be gentle... only a 250 single donchaknow ;)), I'll be there with bells on. Beaut weather at the moment! Anyway, I'll leave some contact details on my profile if you feel like meeting up for a ride. Halswal pub car park is a good meeting place.

I missed my bike. Good to be home.

Thanks Jen! :niceone:

Yeah, I'm loving having my bike back again. Already gone through a couple of tanks of petrol, and that's just been running back and forth through town getting stuff sorted out! Glad it passed the WOF easily, thought the rear tyre was running close but they called it 3mm. All good! Yeah looking forward to catching up with Bill again... actually contemplating burning out to Rakaia to see if he's at work! Hey, nothing else to do. Gotta go visit IL4 at Burwood sometime very soon, but can't do that today.

Good stuff mate. I haven't seen the K2's new paintjob yet, so that'd be good. Are you back in Christchurch? I thought you were still in Japan. Haven't ridden with you since my first ride. Akaroa? ;)

Yay! Welcome back. If I lived in a sensible place like Christchurch I'd definitely be up for a slow-ish 250 single pootle :D

Don't need to save ;) It's just a time thing now. I might start looking around over the next couple of months at what options are out there, kick some tyres, hopefully go for a couple of test rides to see what some different models are like. Then if something shows up at a good price, and I enjoy riding it... anyway, I'm in no great rush - will have to see what happens. In fact, if there's someone in Christchurch who feels like helping me out with what to get after the NZ250... don't be shy ;)

Actually I'd just like someone to ride with for now. Been on a couple of rides with KBers in the past, but it's never been anything regular, I've mostly rode on my own. I like company though, stopping every now and then for a hot pie (mmm), a drink and a chinwag, admire the weather some, then off for some more riding. Still... I suppose you need time to actually meet up with people and make riding with them a more regular thing. At least the bike is now warranted, registered, and insured (thanks to Dave at Kiwi Bike Insurance). It also seems to be running better than before I left. Four months in the shed seems to have done it good!! Didn't do me much good though...

Was filtering through heavy traffic at the city end of Blenheim Road earlier today, and rode past a BMW rider who wasn't filtering. 15 seconds after I got to the lights he pulled up next to me (clearly decided if I was filtering he wasn't going to sit there any more!). We ended up riding together all the way out past Rolleston where he turned off and gave me a wave. Had fun doing that. Traffic out on SH1 southbound was moving to the left to give us room to overtake, so even though there was no corners (was cursing the road for causing my tyre to square off!) it was an enjoyable ride. Out towards Rakaia, turn off towards Leeston / Springston, through Leeston and back to Motukarara where I'm staying. Bike ran faultlessly. :sunny:

Welcome back!!! Remember to come and see us if you make it to Welly at any point! (I did say you could stay after all ;) )

Smog? Sure, in the city centre a few bad winter nights a year... but Christchurch really isn't that smoggy any more. Not since open fires and burning coal got banned. But I'm not in the city at the moment, so no smog or glow from the lights of the city to spoil any star gazing I might feel like doing :) Lots of stars out tonight - shame I don't have a good telescope. Too fscking expensive. <_<

Thanks Mrs KD :) Yeah I'll definitely do that if I'm heading up there. Actually it seems like there must a good crew in Welly, I've already got a small list of KBers in Wellington area to visit if I'm up there! Sounds as though I'll have to make the trip up at some stage. Not so keen on trying on the NZ though, the seat really isn't comfortable enough for touring.

Was good to see you even though the timing wasn't that brilliant  should have dropped us a line or txtd to sort something out
If it wasn't for a long over due set of jobs to be done on the bike this weekend we could have jacked something up.
Will be in touch though to sort some things out

lols shouldn't be taunting Beemer riders  they're a funny breed

Yeah sorry about that - didn't mean for you to get in shit with your boss. Forgot quite how touchy bosses can be on Friday afternoons! It was sort of a spur of the moment thing... if I'd thought about it (and if MyGSXF hadn't made me do it... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it... :innocent: :bleh:) I'd have made contact first. Ah well, tell your boss you told me off and that I won't be bothering you at work again, that should see him right! The ride out was good anyway... except for the lack of corners of course. Took the turnoff towards Leeston / Southbridge on the way back for a bit of variety. No traffic at all. Yep, the bike is definitely running better than when I left... :innocent:

Why not? He didn't look as though he had a great deal of fun in his life, looked like he could use a bit of taunting... even if it wasn't much of a bike (or biker) that was doing it!

Welcome home Ryan... Doh, it's not home for me now is it?

You still talking that CBR cr*p mate? I thought the 'education' on the gixxer would have sorted that one ;)

Must have been great to get back home and out on the bike... I was going stir crazy without mine after 3 days over there

Welcome back to sunny chch... err at least it was yesterday, didn't look too good when I had a noisy outside before from work, guess sometimes working on a saturday is a GOOD thing!
So we will catch you at the ANZAC day ambo run then? As long as it doesn't pee down like it did last year, I should be there.
