Just make sure that with a 70 profile it will have enough clearance under your front guard. I put on a larger profile on my previous bike and stones kept getting caught underneath the guard and making an 'orrible grinding noise.

Best to stick with the manufacturers specs I reckon Quasi.

Sorry dude. The profile number is the ratio of sidewall height to width of the tyre, so changing from the standard spec could have implications for steering quickness, suspension compliance ( the tyre is part of the suspension setup), and as Zed has said, clearance. I stick to manufacturer specs myself. They have more money to develop the specs in the first place.

Not really worth stuffing up your steering just to make a brand statement though, Quasi.

Plenty of people around running different manu's tyres front and rear.

The Metzler's come pretty highly recommended.

Brand statement ? hardly.
The rear Diablo needs the front Diablo to pump a majority of the water for it, thats how they are designed. If you put on another brand, now that is dumb. Particulary in the wet.
Im concerned fr reasons other than Brand issues

mine runs on a 120/70-17 front. Haven't experienced any problems for 3000kms. Well, I still can't ride very well, but don't think that's the tyres  (or the bike, or the gear, or......)

Front guard clearance not an issue.

You ride okay man, it's just those steep hilly twisties in the wet that bring out the worst in ya! :shit:

Firefight put a 70 profile on the front of his R6 (60 standard) and he PMed me the other day saying how great it was.

My ex wifes flat mate did the same on his R6, same result and all the pommy bike mags recomend it also.

We are putting a 60 profile on my wife's 636 to try and quicken up the steering, useda 70 profile on her 6R and it felt horrible. If you use a 70 profile you may want to jack the back of the bike up a bit.
She is going to Diablo's as well. I currently use them on my ZX6 and they are great

Fair enough.
