This Country is turning to Shit! The Government's SHIT! Now, The Police Force is just plain SHIT!

What ever happened to the New Zealand that constituted assets like pride, dignity, teamwork, loyalty and safety?

It wasn't so long ago that this country was respectable and that the NZ Police force were even respectable.

So where exactly is this Labour Government leading the people of New Zealand?

Now.......... The latest ammendment to our NZ Police,
Sex Changed Police!

http://www.stuff.co.nz//4034779a11.html

I'm sorry - But in my eyes - The NZ Police have just lost all credibility.
I don't care if it's only one individual - Fact is, It's a Police wide lack of standards. To hell with Political Correctness.
Take some pride and have the balls to reject the Freaks! Have some Credibility!

So, anyone that has a sex change op and isn't a cop... that's okay, and they can perform any function in society without prejudice...

But, if someone who is a cop has the op, then the entire force is going to hell in a handbasket?

I don't follow...

No the problem with this country is that there are too many people who believe that their values are the 'correct' values and all other values are the 'politicaly correct' ones. I agree that too many people have no understanding, no understanding of other values, other than their own.

I'll put it another way. You no doubt expect the Police to act within the law. And yet you to seem to be proclaiming that if a policeman has a sex change that should be sufficient for him/her to be dismissed from their employment. And yet you to seem to be proclaiming that if a policeman has a sex change that should be sufficient for him/her to be dismissed from their employment. That's how I interpreted your post

Skyryder

No I'm not proclaiming that. I'm stating that the standards are dropping. To the point that I don't think the word "standards" is applicable.

Gone are the height requirements.
Gone are the entry standards. (Now with failed recruits being passed, provided they undergo remedial training in the future).
The physical requirements are even dropping.

The defence force no longer has a run test for it's personnel. It's now a walk test!

And now we have sex changing........

That's how I interpreted your post, that amonst other things.

My post is infact directed at the Standards, not the individuals.

Don't you think that they are entitled to the same protection of employment law as you are?
Skyryder

I'm fulltime employed.

However, My employment laws heavily breach NZ employment laws. As a result, my personnal employment laws don't provide me any ground to stand on.

So what are you proud of? Being a minority or am I missing something here.

Skyryder

I'm simply proud to be in the minority. The minority will remain just that. Because this government has no intention or method to preventing the emigration of this countries most highly educated citizens.
We continue to emigrate 600 educated/working NZ'ers a week to Australia, whilst Labour replaces them with predominantly unskilled, beneficiaires and refugees.

So if less recruits get in because they do not pass all aspects of training then I guess there would be less Police so we get back to the same old bash that the Police do not attend to crimes because of lack of resources.

The real test of how good a Police officer is surely comes when they start doing the job, not how fit they are.

The Police need more skills than doing a run test or passing a physical test..........maybe we need more 'Thinkers' than 'Gorilla's' in the Police force....I mean you could have some geezer who passes the test with flying colours, you know, 1,000 push ups, 10k's in 10 minutes but he is a crap cop, exactly the kind you will complain about whereas the Police bashers are always complaining that some cops don't use discretion.............

Let's face it, The Police have a job that may place them in the face of some very serious Danger. Their Physical attribute may be the difference between life and death. Therefore - Physicality has a real importance and should be promoted, the standards should not be lowered for their own sake.

In saying that, maybe Sarahs new physical attributes may result in less aggressive behaviour towards him/her? Makes one think!

Is lowering the standard the only way to combat the drop in recruiting?
Why not maintain the standard, pay better and provide a better renumeration package?

This officer isn't out there causing harm to other members of society, unlike thieves murderers and rapists. Rather, she is doing her part to protect the peace in our community. Thats very admirable.

What's more admirable is that she has found a way to be comfortable in her own skin AND return to the police force. No doubt she will face judgment and rejection from many of her colleagues. A little understanding and compassion for another human being would go a long way.

Labour policies are the drive behind NZ's political correctness.
A socialist government that is not clever in the way it deceives, it is infact aided by the fact that the average New Zealander sees/accepts only whats
on the surface.

How could you not even piece together the relationship??? OMG!

New Zealand's brain drain is really quite bad. The educated are - Sparsely here it would seem.

Labour is not a socialist Government. Those that claim that it is have no undestanding of socialism. This Government operates under the umbrella of market forces. It applies legislation as a counter ballance to those that are most vunerable to it. That is not socialism.

As for New Zealanders only seeing what's on the surface I can only comment that you seem to have your head buried in the sand. In balance Kiwis are very well informed. Even those that oppose my views but there is an arrogance that you have a superior intellect than the rest of us.

At 1 o'clock this morning two police officers (1 male, 1 female) came to my daughter's flat and arrested her pissed (now ex) boyfriend who had kicked in her car windscreen, smashed her bedroom window, broken two phones so the police could not be rung and left her with bruises on her head and upper body.

I couldn't give a toss about those police officers' sexuality, their race or even what rugby team they support. I'm just so glad that they got there and did what they did in a professional manner and stopped further harm to my daughter.

It's precisely because of Banks, Perigo, etc that most New Zealanders believe that Labour 'is' a socialist Government. They have a political agenda in promoting this as they both come from the opposite politcal spectrum. Banks is an ACT supporter as is Perigro in as much as their (ACT'S) political views match the Liberterianz's of which Perigro is their most prominent 'admirer.'

When you have to resort to other indaviduals to support your views it only indicates that you are unable to develope views on your own and the inability to give reasons for them.

Like I said - I'm really quite dumb!

I don't know why I don't support Labours immigration policies, why I don't support their ability to change laws to suit their personal needs. Why would I want them to repay election overspending when I can pay for it? It don't matter that the law has only just changed to now state that tax payer money be used for election funding/over funding. Naturally, It's gonna take alot of airbrushing for labour's advertising billboards!
Why would I want them to pay for herceptin treatment for NZ breast cancer victims (Is Sarah at risk?) when the money can be used to fund Helen to stand on the back of our Boat with her 25 strong taxpayer funded maori haka support party. Why would I want to see her stop the brain drain issue when that gives me a chance to lift myself from the bottom? I mean, Rape and murder are thriving, Why would I want that to be interviened with?
What's wrong with high speed motorcades - It's a footy nation.
High level corruption in the Police department. High level corruption in the corrections system - makes for good reading! So I'm told!
Do I care that prisoners are becoming well off by making an occassional compensation claim here or there.
Prostitution legalisation/promotion - That'll save a fair few parents needing to fork out pocket money.
Who cares if were declining on the OECD list of countries, tending toward the third world countries. Who cares if our leader falsifies artwork or documents.
So what if Helen is great friends with the communist president of Cuba, Fidel Castro, and is now opening an embassy in NZ. Taxpayers can pay for it.
Who cares that we are the only country in the world that would accept international terrorists like Zaoui. Why would I care that the government lies about the level of student debt, or breaks promises about tax relief, or even lies about the multibillion dollar debt raised by Labours Kiyoto protocol signing. Why not raise your kids the way labour want you to? Do you deserve a choice or something?

I don't care, I could go on and on. But I don't care. Coz I decided that I ain't paying the government no more - I'm taking instead! Bwahahaha!

A bit like Henry Fords Model T, any colour you like as long as it's black!

As for the Police Officer changing his sex, it has nothing to do with anyone else, not even his employers, except to change his personal records accordingly.

They employ male and female officers so he/she is still within the scope for the job.

I do object to it being paid for by the taxpayers though, (if it was) it was his/her "choice", not mine or yours!

Good luck to her, life must be tough to have to face up to something like that!

I don't know who covered the costs, but I'd imagine if it affected Sarah's ability to concentrate properly on her job, then funding would be available to her.

After all, the Labour Government pays for Prisoners to undergo sex changes, along with their own occassional MP's operations.

As long as you're requiring sexual natured medical attention and you're not a working class tax payer requiring life saving medical treatment, then you should be eligable for government funding.

They are all left of center. (Including ACT, IMHO)

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2 a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

Well, (1) an (2) certainly don't suit NZ. Show me any current political party that advocates collective or state ownership of the means of production and distribution.

And to accept (3) we would have to accept that NZ is not a capitalist society, which would infer that almost every country on earth was socialist, which seems manifestly incorrect.

The classic litmus test for a socialist government is that it advocates, and acts on, the principle of state or communal ownership of the means of production , distribution and exchange. No major NZ party supports this. Noone is going to nationalise Air NZ or Telecom.

3) Unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.
Would that be anything like New Zealands taxpayers receiving no government assisted medical treatment for things like the Herceptin drug.
Whereas the government will pay medical charges for sex changes to non tax paying prisoners?

I'm speaking standards from 10-20 years ago. When we had a nation that was respectful and proud. When murders & rapes was a rarity not a common daily occurance. When people could leave front doors open all night.

I've clearly mentioned this twice previously. The issue here is not personal.
It's not about "Sarah". It's about one standard dropping after another.
The Height, Pre-entrance tests, physical tests, personal presentation, now sexual gender changings which previously would have been unacceptable.

Sure we are seeing the current generation lightening up in many aspects, but with it comes increased corruption, crime and death. All of which just become acceptable in such a society as todays.

I hate the way the education system, promotes equalness, The New Zealand education approach is the opposite to Australias.
In Australia they promote striving ahead, standing out above the rest and winning.
In New Zealand, It is not PC to make one child feel lesser than another, so such behaviour is not promoted in such ways.

This would be absolute anathema to a Socialist government. The first Labour government (which was vaguely socialist) made it law that anyone wanting to sell in NZ must manufacture in NZ (more or less - I simplify). No way would a Socialist government allow NZ jobs to be lost overseas.

2) Private Property - How many other countries in the world allow any other nationailty to purchase their land? Socialism has no problem with private property, so long as it is PRIVATE. Your stuff. That doesn't extend to big foreign corporations. So far from a Socialist government allowing foreigners to buy our lands, forests, buildings, they would in fact compulsarily nationalise all those already owned off shore and return them to Kiwi ownership (whether the present "owners" should be compensated is a matter of argument.)

3) Unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.
Would that be anything like New Zealands taxpayers receiving no government assisted medical treatment for things like the Herceptin drug.

Your example doesn't seem very relevant. The question of pay in relation to work is not a central tenet of socialism. In general most socialists subscribe to a model that maintains the principle that those who work harder, or whose work is more valuable should be paid more. But consider that such differentials should not be so great as to promote a class society where there are rich and poor. I'm not sure if you approve of pay differentials or not. If someone works overtime , should they not be paid extra? If someone studies to acquire an extra useful skill, should that not be acknowledged?

That's a common misconception. The taxes collected on alcohol and cigarettes are considerably less than the costs incurred by their consumption.
