Its always fair game to bag people like the Monkees and John Denver but the fact is, they sold a shit load of albums and did some great stuff back in the day. I'd definately say let em in... A few of them went on to do stuff post Monkees that any muso would be happy with as a lifes work.

'Reno? Why Reno?

Tons of Monkees episodes had Triumphs in 'em too.

Well that alone is justification....

Fact is - I like some of their music and if I was a musician and had the sales they did I'd be chuffed - didn't like the TV show much but... I don't really like TV much ..

I don't really like TV much ..

I liked it much better then.

After Skool Looney Tunes, Monkees, Gilligan, Petticoat Junction, F troop was as good as it got.

You're old eh?

Older than time mate - but still mostly functional, 100% fun and I could probably kick your arse and cover it up afterwards because the kids watch CSI. Difference is I'd laught about it ('cos I watched the Monkees on TV) and I recognise all the Who songs they play as the theme music to all the CSI varients... :innocent:

well ok - maybe I couldn't kick your arse but I could talk you to death - or a decent ear ache...

No but if I could go back in time and pick which songs were going to be hits I would not be sitting here entertaining myself on KB... I'd pay someone to do that for me...

ps - seriously - The Who were (and still are) pretty damn good ...

Sorry CM, I havent sorted out mob scoot access to my house yet as I have another 50 years before I need one (what am I talking about...I ride a bike!)...however, I'll meet you at the entrance to the rest home, and I'll bring a cup of water for your teeth (they're bloody expensive I hear).

Nah - I think he is probably an Oasis fan and just bitter that the greatest band ever turned out to be utter shite (as predicted) ..... Bloody hell - poor bastard, what golden era is he going to remember later? snicker - tin plated 80's and plastic 90's - what a crock.. Mind you, there is a bit of good 'poppy' stuff coming out of the UK now...

Besides - I aint that old. I'll get the lads together and if we can manage to kick start our bikes (dodgy hips) we will go 'round and duff the cheeky beggar up - provided we don't get lost because the one way streets are very confusing and we don't go out at night much...

Na, not Oasis either....in fact, England has never put out any decent rock bands...:shifty:

In terms of golden era its not actually real you realise? Its simply a shifting point in time created by old people to add some level of purpose to an otherwise meaningless life...I've yet to create mine...its probably going to be the big patch I cant remember so I'll have to make it all up.

Needless to say however, it wont contain the monkeys, nor the who...it will contain Dr Who though....jelly baby?
