Well.. I didn't make the Whangarei ride today... Felt the trip would be too long, and my riding isn't up to scratch yet.. But after a txt from CBobR I geared up and off we went for our own little ride..

Did the bays loop road again but this time instead of turning around at the top shop and heading back home through the same direction that we came we took the matauri bay road back onto the main drag.. Absolutely fantastic and was more comfortable for me.. Apart from one stallage after having to stop at a one way bridge.. But I kept my cool got the bike started again quickly and we were on our way..

Found the bays loop road a little bit.. Umm difficult in a few of the tighter corners, they were wet and a bit gravelly this time round, but managed to motor my way through..

Had a few hiccups in the start of the ride but got through those with a bit of help.. Managed another hill start.. This time only using my rear brake.. Managed that fine without stalling.. Had a bit of a hard time finding nuetral at times, but I think I put such a high expectation on myself to do every perfectly the first time that I fumbled a bit... Its much easier to get it right when you just relax.. Bike eventually started to run nicer... Which was fantastic!!! I had no issues with my indicators or headlights (they ran the whole trip) and I didn't lose any of my display lights.. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed the probs sorted..

We'd stopped to discuss stopping in town so I could be shown how to fill my bike and check a few things etc etc... I didn't really want to.. Was cool with sticking to fillng up a gas container and bringing it home lol.. But.. I ran out of gas just out of town.. Put it on reserve.. So I was pretty much forced to learn.. Which at the end of the day was cool..

All in all a good ride..... Absolutely stunning weather out there... I'm slowly managing to venture further from home without worrying to much (so long as I have someone with me) And I feel a bit more confident in trying some new roads..

Huge thanks going out to CBobR.. Your amazing... Thanks a bunch for all your help... Don't know how I'd be doing if I didn't have you around putting up with me snailing it.. Can't wait til the next round.. ;)

Well apparently even Michael Jordan throws 100 free throws every day so that shows you the value of practise. My first year I clocked 31,000 Km's on a honda GL145 which was a huge hoot. I dare say your RG would be a way better dsitance bike than that.

Good to hear your having fun.
