Just bought myself a 2nd hand Chinese scooter on trademe, the scooter is getting a bit slower and slower. Probably time for a check up / tune up and hopefully derestricting the bugger as well.
Any good place to go in Dunedin? (not too expensive please):scooter:

Can't advise you of a good shop, but all those 4-Stroke chinese scooters have the same problem with power loss - the valves are made of old bean cans and they gradually mushroom, meaning the bike loses compression. Makes em c^nts to start and even more gutless than factory. Pull the seat off, whip the rocker cover off and set up inlet 0.15 exhaust 0.2mm and you will have all your original 0.5kw back. Change the oil too, no filters and only 1L of oil, so change the oil lots. And I bet the air filter has never been oil impregnated... check it and get some air-filter oil if its dry. You can't really derestrict a chinese scooter - the engines are inherently not that flash. Some are plumbed for EU emission controls - they can be dumped and you get a bit more puff. http://www.chinesescooterclub.co.uk/default.asp?pageid=14 has all the manuals.
