Just me agin; started my Suzuki (painfully slowly) without the choke properly engaged this morning. It SEEMS ok now, but could I have damaged anything..?

Not sure what you mean, if you started it and it took ages ie you have a battery concern, the battery would have charged up while you used it today.
If it was hard to start cause you didnt use the choke and you got it going it wouldnt matter much.
Good idea to run the choke for a few minutes espec in winter.
Im not sure if that helps

Nope.

Doesn't matter a bit. It's worse to use too much choke for too long than no choke at all. You should only use choke for about 30 seconds or so and then ride off.

Might make it a bit difficult to not stall on a really cold morning with no choke though.

See you at Caltex Rimutaka, 10:00am Sunday. It is for all speeds and skill levels and I'll be following along to make sure everyone is OK.

Thanks, guys-

yep, what you both say is dead helpful. My bike has been so well looked after so far, I have this dread of being the one who messes her up; I'm not the most mechanically minded of people. Becoming very attached already, and cringe at the thought!
Are you coming out on Saturday night, Jackrat?
If not, will definately see you at Caltex Rimutaka..well, now there's an incentive not to get too battered Saturday night!

Me Jim2 Ugh! - My signature was originally written by Jackrat - That particular confusion seems to happen a lot. I may have to change it.

I won't be coming out Saturday night as it is now officially essay writing time. Bloody university. Sunday is only off because I'm (Unlike Celtic Sea Lily) refusing to be THAT studious. See you on Sunday :niceone:

See ya soon, then! (commiserations about the essay- something I do not miss...)

Mate I'm NOT that studious, but it's my student income that prevents me reaching the dizzy heights if the Rimutakas on Sunday morning plus if I'm out with Jazbug Saturday night I'll be feeling slightly worse for wear
