Primo Yamaha SRV250.

Bullet proof and grunty for a 250cc - a stunning v-twin, nice sound, really smooth at 100-120kph.
Cafe-racer style with nice minimal colour and lines.

The riding stance is comfortable for commuting, but sporty enough for weekend rides. It's done it's time on the kiwi biker & weekend rides - AK-coro, SH16 and SH22. I've had it for 2 years with no issues and I still commute on it Te Atatu-Otara daily.
$12.00 gets 290kms and starts first pop (without using choke) even in winter.
Pillions well.

Selling as passed my full license recently. yay. Speedo goes to 160kph, I know it goes 155kph and if you curl up in a ball, who knows... ;)

Test drives welcome to anyone with license, or if you aren't licensed organise to be a pillion on the bike. The test ride will sell this bike and these don't come up often.

guys .. this is a damn nice bike .. I originally sold this to Surfy as her first bike and i know for a fact it has been babied.. i also know for a fact that it is a strong bike , as when i sold it to her, she did not have a license or the confidence to ride solo at that point and it carried BOTH of us up and down hills around the Grey Lynn area (my 120 kg ass and Surfchick as pillion)


these bikes have the same engine as the Virago with a sportier ride ..

That looks like a great alternative to Honda's VTR250.

I think V-Twin has to be the best way to go for any learner - not as fickle as a 4cyl, not as much ball kicking engine braking as a single cyl and there's something about the V configuration that parallel twins just don't have - I don't care what angles they put the cranks at.

you'll find that on alot of V twins, water gets up around the front plug and you end up running on one, usually its just that the cap has popped loose or has a wee tear in it
