the above article, made me feel slightly surprised and somewhat relieved, I get tired of the "in your face" sexual inuendo in every advertisment on telly and even on the radio, as my Grandmother so succinctly puts it, "sex is something you need to do sometimes, a bit like sneezing or farting", while her sexual experiences may have been as satifying as farting or sneezing and I would hope that most people are a little more enthusiastic, I do understand the point she makes, and that is it gets way too much coverage and creedance in the media, I often wonder what a little green man in a spaceship would think of the human race if he deducted his conclusions solely from watching our television. I'm glad to know younger people than me obviously feel the same way.

I really hate being 'manipulated' by advertisers - I never play anyones game,it's my world I'm sorry,I play by my own rules. But they know any male can't not look at lots of female skin, any add will have tantalising glimpses to make us watch.I seldom watch TV,never buy a newspaper and the only mags I get are bike mags.I just want to be informed by advertising, not entertained - mind you I could sure do without the inane Magnus Benroe adds. There's hope for the young fullas yet....

Sorry, but you had me cracking up there, man your Gran must have let some ripper farts go!!! :killingme
As for Ads, i stopped watching them a lomg time back, daughter comments on them and I have to get her to tell me when they are next on.
She does however have a healthy dose of cynicism and treats ads for what they are, some one wnat YOUR money.

The thrust of this article makes much sense. It's a bit like all of the fuss around the "bugger" ad of a couple of years back. Society moves on... (I should stop here before lapsing into rhetoric better placed on the Scottish thread)

Ok I've missed something - what is "the scottish thread"?
In regards to advertising - have you seen those new ads for the new mens aftershave by Lentheric (I think). A women rolling round on a bed moaning & heavey breathing and then she says something, in a girly french accent, about how at the height of passion her body temp is 38.2 or some such hoo hah. Interesting that sher's on her own though :msn-wink: There are a few different ones with the same woman...that'll get you boys watching the ads!

Maybe she's got a thermometer and she's taking her temperature?

Well there's a whole series of them - in one she is saying about the beats per minute of her heart and in the other one she is saying the number of muscles she uses at the peak of passion. But definitely alone. :shifty:

Number of muscles? The mind boggles... I thought the body went into a complete and total state of relaxation at the peak of passion. But then again, I'm from Eltham...

I just find it funny cos the catch phrase of these adverts has been "take her there"...well he aint taking her nowhere cos she's on her own! He must out with his metrosexual mates buying aftershave or maybe a new pair of loafers.

It's not surprising at all. Most men are scared shitless of women, and have no idea about what they're supposed to do as far as the sex thing goes.
It's just that the younger generation don't mind admitting it.

Indeed. Why take her when she's already there! (to misquote AC: DC)
