Does anyone have any suggestions?? I have a Boulevard S40 (650 single) that makes an anoying squeeky noise. It used to only do it when in the wet but now seems to do it all the time. Only done 10000ks and has just had new tyre fitted but came back from bike shop making an even louder noise. They seem to shrugg their shoulders and dont have any idea but it is getting irritating. Any Ideas???

Rub silicone spray squirted on a rag on each side of the belt, worked on my Sporty.

Haven't needed it on the T- Sport though.

Moving the belt guard may help.

I know rubbing a candle or soap on fan belt stops it from being squeaky.. Might work with a drive belt... :)

I had an S40 same problem. Check out www.suzukisavage.com for info about these, common problem.
I bought some silicon spray from local bike shop (they also had special spray for belts, 3 times the price and works just the same) and about once a week I did a light spray on the belt. Spray a bit on inside, move bike spray a bit more.
You just have to be careful to use a spray that won't damage the belt, nothing petroleum based.
I find my bike shop was very helpful.

That pretty much kept the squeak at bay. It is a known issue.

One pulled up beside me the other day making an annoying noise but then the rider shut it off and it went away..

Seriously - you can get all kinds of 'belt dressing' type sprays... I's recommend keeping em off the tyres though..

You get a stick (kinda like a small candle) called 'DriLube' that works well on fan belts, window rubbers and the like on cars, it's be easier to store in the tool box than a spray can of silicone and I reckon it lasts longer. Just my 2c.

Id suggest that any of the above will work--but its kinda like putting a plaster on a cut.
Id suggest looking a bit deeper.
My first thought is that the rear wheel is missalighned -which will cause the belt to rub on the rim of the rear drive"sprocket"
--Take the back wheeel out and have a look at the rub marks on the "sprocket"
Look for uneven wear patterns . Also check for damage to the sides of the belt.
do an alighnment and then Id try doing exactly the oposite of the advice given --Clean up the belt and "sprocket" with soap and water then let it dry off.

Agreed - something might have gotten out of alignment. I had my belt checked for all that when the squeaking started and it was fine. Mine also started squeaking noticeably at about 10,000, and the occasional squirt of silicon spray solved it.

Some Kb mates had a look at that when we were on a ride on Saturday slacked the belt off and adjusted allignment a bit (thanx guys) was great for another 30ks or so then just came back. Sounds like its a bit of a thing with these bikes ... will give these suggestions a go in the weekend ... maybe another reason to upgrade :Punk:

Are you seeing an authorised Boulevard dealer about all of this?

I would think that Sukuki's whole special branding and support thing about the Boulevard means that you are entitled to a proper solution and not all this band-aid stuff

Mine was thru a Zuki authorised dealer, they lubed the belt for free first time and just sold me the spray.
As for the upgrade - I went to the S50 (shaft drive) which I love, but swapped a squeaky belt for a squeaky front brake - another known issue.

Yep sure am. You would think so wouldnt you? I will go have another try with them too. They fitted a new rear tyre last Friday which made it worse if anything.

Yes I had the frontbrake thing too lol but seems to have settled down now. I actually like the look of the kwaka VN900.

Yes they are nice - the VN900 - thought about it but decided the S50 would suit me better.
