Harley Davidson has scrapped plans to enter the Indian market.

Despite obtaining the agreement of the Indian government to accept lower emissions standards for large motorcycles, the American manufacturer has announced that “(import) tariffs would make the bike would be too expensive for the Indian consumer to participate in the Harley Davidson experience."

India had agreed to ease the emission standards for Harley Davidson in return for the U.S. allowing in imports of Indian mangoes.

Yeah right!!!!

Are you questioning my journalistic integrity here?

Seriously, this is what I found when I was doing my usual news search.

In exchange for agreeing to turn a blind eye to Harleys being way noisier than they allow, the US government have agreed to import Indian mangoes.

Wierd thing, politics.

Why don't they do what the rest of the world is doing, and outsource the manufacture of the bikes to India....thousands of jobs globally go there every month.
