A mate and I are heading to Wellington on saturday to check over the bike shops there and in the Hutt time permiting. To save going to every bike shop are there any recommendations specifically in relation to aftermarket bits apparel etc... I personally would'nt mind clapping eyes on a new R1 if you know of a dealer with one in stock?

As far as gear goes I'd go and see Kerry at TSS in Petone - he'll find what you want if they don't have it and give you a good deal on it, an all round great guy too which helps.
R1? Gasp, you're not letting go of the ace are you???

Ditto Bert, TSS have a good range of apparel in there. Motomart in the Hutt had a reasonable range too, but TSS more price competitive

In the Hutt Valley you have:
TSS Motorcycles - quite good on stocks and very nice people. They will help you with everything you need.
Motomart - bigger, larger stock (at least from what I've seen). Supposedly not as nice as TSS guys (I don't know if it's true or not).
In Wellington you have:
Sawyer motorcycles - don't stock too many accessories, but have quite a wide range or bikes. They are very mice people
Wellington Motorcycles - bigger, usually into cruisers and hogs (but not only).
There are others, but these are the major ones (the ones that matter :D)
The Hutt shops tend to be bigger and with wider stocks.

Now they are called Sawyer motorcycles, not motorad anymore. I don't know if the company changed it's name or not, but the logo in front of the shop doesn't say motorad anymore, it says sawyer's

If you are coming down SH2 from Dannevirke, you'll no doubt come through Masterton... there's three shops there for a start! Are you considering them?

Just rang them ... they are currently known as Motorad and trade as both Sawyers and Motorad but are about to rebrand ... so hold this space :sunny:

TSS had a mint 2006 R1 last weekend (And they also have plenty of 2007 R1's). I've taken it out for a test and it's a beautiful bike. Have a word with Fergus when your in there. From what I've heard the 2006 is a better bike.
