big thanks to anyone that helped pull this day off! It was fantastic.

Special big thanks to whoever was in charge of the weather!
uuhh shit... pass the aloe..

I managed to grind one chicken strip off to the very edge which I haven't seen on road tire before.

good to catch up with some of you I haven't seen for a while.

2 things I learned:
* Down changing into a corner without a proper blip can have delightful fishtail affect on the rear tire.
* Don't get your knee down without sliders (now pass the cotton)

Cheers all for a pleasant day

You need a bigger car Eddie, Boomer lying across 4 of us in back seat on way home wasn't too hygenic...esp when he farted :crybaby:

Cheers frosty good day out and sorry to all those i gave the learn

Thank you giving me the learn Logan(like you said you would the night before lol) was happy to repay the favour for the rest of the day :spanking:

After lo-siding on the second corner of the first lap of my first session I was quickly reminded about cold tyres :kick:

Fine... it was the first time I have crashed in 7 years so meh ... Bike was fine except for left hand fairing well scratched up :doctor:

2nd session was a bit tentative but quickly got confidence back and it was all go after that, I learnt a LOT about the track after yesterday... Diablo's (rear...had SC0 supercorsa on front) do not make for a good tarck tyre.... Was leaving black marks everywhere and nearly hi-sided twice onto the back straight(eh Darrell and Jesse lol)

Rest of the day was primo, was good watching all the different groups going around... a bit of carnage here and there, nothing too major tho

Thanks Frosty for a ripper day and a bloody good job :)

Giddy up

Ummmmmm, who the hell told you tie the bikes down on the sidestands mate? They owe you some new ones. It AINT how it's done.

Yeah that'd be me. Told everyone to have paddock stands ready to hold the bikes up, last minute proved that one of the bikes wasn't able to be transported on paddock stands and only my bike would sit on its stand properly. Thus the only way to fit all three bikes on was with the ZXR and the CBR on their stands, however Mark is exaggerting a bit. The were tentioned in a triangle so that all the forces balanced and stabilised the bikes. They weren't anchored down on the stands.Seems they may have slipped a bit an unbalanced the tensioning.
Marks tie down snapped because he had sharp edged on his bike...get a file and deal to that Mark!

One little disappointment was not being able to two up even in the slow group...the Girls were quite disappointed as was I. We had a great day on Friday at the MotoTT day where they let us go out two up and we had a ball...Anyway, something to think of for next time maybe ;).

Top day out. The new organisation worked really well. Too much track time for me. Tried moving around the bike more since I had new kit that allowed it. Can hardly walk today. Need to get race fit for the next one.

THAT position is already taken. Pffft, some people, no respect....

Sorry mate, don't try tie 'em down on race stands either. Straight up and down, four ties per bike, on their wheels, compressing either the front or rear suspension.

Ok, well thanks, info noted for the next time.

I did that with one bike once and nearly lost it over some really bumpy roads, hence I was put off that method! Dare say you have transported many many more bikes than I have, so I must have cocked it up to nearly loose the bike...will have another go next time.

Just wanted to let the organisers of the trackday know that daytony will be coming up to the trackday with me but won't be riding, thus perhaps opening a place for someone else. We don't care about the bucks but would hate someone to miss out, who could perhaps ride.
Unfortunately daytony dropped his bike on sunday, doing 90k, when a car turned sharply and suddenly in front of him without indicating! He has a sprained wrist and can't ride. Luckily his gear and helmet did their job and he'll be over it soon enough. Trumpy may take a little longer to fix!
I was following behind and watching my dear mate tumble along the road was one of the most horrific moments in my life.
Thanks to paul in nz for his very generous assistance.
See you all Sunday.

Heck of a way to meet you guys... It was a complete pleasure (for us but not for Tony perhaps) as you are really nice folks and we were very glad to help out!

I've done a fair few track days in the last couple of years and have to say that yesterday's was was up there with the best. Everything was well organised, having enough people doing registrations, scrutineering, and even a guy letting us on the track one by one!! Thank you Frosty and all the helpers who made the day possible. DEFINITELY answered any grumblings from last time, and then some!!! Well done!!

Having done two trackdays in the previous two days you'd think we'd had enough, but KB trackdays are special occasions, and it was good to catch up with some KB'ers who I hadn't seen in a while. Even better to get out on track with some of the old crew again. Had a bit of fun with Eddy in one session until a bird decided to walk across the track three quarters on the way down the main straight!! That was exciting!! Also had a good dice with a yellow gixxer, Kornholio I think??? in the second to last session. Couldn't get past anywhere on the infield, got blown away on the straight, only way past might have been under brakes at the end of either straight, on the inside, but though we were allowed, it probably wasn't worth the risk. Look forward to a rematch mate!!!! That was awesome fun!! :2thumbsup

Special thanks to the Bikestore for getting my tyre warmers to me in time for this weekend!! Thanks Eddy - excellent service!! And thanks to Brian too for organising the garage etc for us for both days!! Looking forward to a rematch on your new bike!!!

Catch up at the next one mate, there is a technique to it for it sure.

There sure is!! You really learn a lot if you keep using different trailers too. Really useful the first few times to travel with people who've done it before if you can.

YOUUUUUU.......bloodey 2 stroke 250's pulling away down straight...slow but leaving no safe wya to pass thru corners.....ugh eventually u gave me room to pass so i cld get far enuf ahead that u cldnt nail me down the straight LOL.

Clearly you weren't listening during the riders briefing Mark - as the passing rider it's your responsibility to find a safe way to pass, it's not up to the rider in front. If they don't it's not an excuse to cut into their line, particularly in the slow group. It's not a race, however in a race I'm fairly certain no one is going to be pulling over to give you a safe way past.... Some people were out their to work on improving their technique, not just target another rider and make it their mission to get past at all costs.

:2thumbsup

Damn you made me work for that... Just when I thought I had lost ya, you were right on my tail again...awesome riding man :msn-wink: and will be seeing ya on the next track day for sure :niceone:

I was listening at riders briefing...thats why i couldn't pass safely until the 3rd session plenty of chances to pass but were to high a risk....

thus i waited.....i ddnt expect him to wave me through lol....was a good challenge to keep up wih him cus he kept getting me on corner exit!

and what the hell it wasnt at all costs you ask anybody who was there, i was very respectful and courteous with my passing...like wtf...

yes it wasnt a race but it's pretty pointless being out there if ya not gunna have a little bit of a chase of somebody faster to improve your skills.

some bikes i sat behind for a long time playing chaseys as they were faster through certain corners than me and i was pushing myself to keep with them.

whatever.

as you all were then.

f**king shit stirrer...

Bert --credit where credits due--Skiddy may mouth off in the forums and I will NEVER ride on a public road with him BUT
I had every marshall watching for him to be a fuckwit and other than somes erratic riding -(pretty normalish for a newbee)He diddnt do anything wrong all day.
He does need to shut up and listen -given he had the ear of one of the countrys most experienced racers.
Mark if I were you I'd revisit my mindset.--FORGET about beating anyone and focus on the track--its THE TRACK you need to master -figure out the best braking points and turn in points -THEN you can set the bike up pre corner -it wont feel unstable
Do that and youll start to get smooth -or crash n burn
Then youll find passing people is easy

You could move further over on the seat. You don't have much mass but shifting it should still help. (more you mass you shift off center the faster the bike turns at the same lean)

From what I saw you were not slow.
This was why you were moved to the medium.

Funny thing was it was not until I spoke to you at lunch you worked out who I was lol. Even when I was talking to you on the grid you were so focused on what you were about to do you had no recognition of anything else.

not to start an argument or anything, but if the rider in front of you is 'stuffing up your lines' why dont you over take in the straight, slow down, or if they are really annoying, pull into the pits till they are long gone?

Or turn the thing sideways under brakes and take them out. That's what Rossi'd do.

I was referring to riders that he passed saying their lines were stuffed up by his passing manoeuvre.

My intention in responding to marks post was never to start a skidmark bashing session, I honestly thought it was a great day, well run and everyone had a good time.

I'm hardly one to talk but in the novice group, there didn't really appear to be much in the way of 'lines'. And this is to be expected.

And from what I saw, skidMark actually did very well. No dodgy overtaking, no arsing about, and he was cornering very well.

In my perfect world NONE of ya will need to pass cos you'lll be so well set up spacing wise and all at the same pace
Seeeing as we are using Mark as an example -he was kinda hard to miss in those BRIGHT orange leathers
He was a perfect example of someone who needed to apply the very old slow down in order to go faster principle

For the most part, SkidMark was quite well behaved. This is the first time I've met him and I had only known him through what I'd read in the forums. He's full of energy, which is great however I did witness a fairly dodgy turn he made on steelestring which almost resulted in skidmark hitting steelestring.

I'm not wanting to get at SM just because its SM but it made my heart jump and I can only think what might have happened.

But hey, we all have dodgys every so often!

SkidMark, you're a good rider and I'm sure you'll just continue to get better and better so keep it up!
