It is now. And there can be only one. Bless you Mr Shoei! And I have now destroyed two of these with my head inside and they seem to do the business pretty well.

And they are not badly priced either.
Dont lift at high speed dont get affected much by turning your head at high speed either
ventilation is pretty good expect that it gets a bit foggy in the winter but havent had a helmet that dont suffer from that

The best advice i can give is to first fit on a few helmets and make sure they fit one hundred percent then come back with a couple of brands and get people opinion of the different models in that brand
All helmets are not equal when it comes to sizes

You've got a bunch of mutually exclusive things in your wish list.
In my experience if it doesn't lift at speed, it will be relatively noisy.
I've only destroyed one helmet in an accident and it was an Arai. A person fell on it from about 20 feet and then a car drove over it. Comfortable but noisy at speed, and difficult to get on and off.
I can still type so it may well have worked.
The most easy to live with helmet was a Nolan N100. Supremely comfortable and the flip front meant you didn't need to take your helmet on and off all the time. The pinlock anti-fog system is the best motorcycle helmet related invention ever. The visor leaked like a sieve though. Flip fronts are a bit "nerdy" though. So I got contacts and I don't need one now.
My current HJC HQ-1 "Lordship" is very cool. It fits better than anything I've owned, the visor system works, it comes with a free breath guard, it's made of Carbon Fibre and it has Dragons on. It is a bit noisy but earplugs fix that.
I've got REALLY big ears and they are really comfortable in the HJC.

I've got a pair of TBR carbons as my music system.
jim2, just got a new schuberth s1 sweet helmet
Shoei. Saved my head when it when into a 4wd wheel (headfirst) @ 70kph.
Barely damaged the helmet.
must be made out of hopes and dreams as carbon fibre would have cracked.
Im slowly savin up for a new 1

Definitely HJC HQ1
It is not too expensive (priced like a lowend to midrange Shoei/Arai)
It comes with a really good bowling bag.
It is light. It is comfortable. It has an enormous field of view.
It is a bit noisy but not excessively so.
Very stable at road legal speeds.
It never fogs. Never.
It is made of CARBON FIBRE
For the money best helmet ive had in 29 years of riding...........

Second person to say that you can buy a think that attaches to the bottom of the helmut looks like a curtain only its horizontal that apparently stops the wind.
thanks jim2, but still get a small wind noise through one of the vents, but nothing to worry about, but getting my earphones on, is a bitch:rockon: love the grachics on your helmet.

Noisy as...but ear plugs fix that.
I don't have a Shoei/HJC shaped head and they tend to give me pain after an hour or so of riding but this one is the perfect shape for my head and I could ride all day in it.
The best advice i can give is to first fit on a few helmets and make sure they fit one hundred percent then come back with a couple of brands and get people opinion of the different models in that brand

So very, very true. But I would not be too concerned about other peoples opinions.
I spent some hours a while back trying different helmets on. I hated some that others here rate as marvelous, and vice-versa. I nearly settled on a Shoei XR1000, then I tried a BMW SportIntegral (made by Schuberth). Bastard of a thing to get on, but I was sold after I took it for a test run. This is the most comfortable, quiet, fog-free, stable helmet I have ever had, but I would never put it on for a quick run down to the shops.
Second person to say that you can buy a think that attaches to the bottom of the helmut looks like a curtain only its horizontal that apparently stops the wind.
Didn't that come standard on the XR1000? i figured it did cos my dad had it on his.
I have a nolan N102 - lovely helmet .. not too noisy .. and has a system designed to fit into it for the ipod cell phone etc .. and even bluetooth if you need it.

Shoei X Sprit is by far the best I have had, a little bit noisy very pricey but light fits great and does not lift or shake. :Punk:

The 2007 RF1000 (which I'm told is the same but with a different name for the US market) comes with the chin curtain and breathguard included according to the Shoei website. I was gonna buy one but can't make up my mind still after 6 months of looking....
I have a Nolan N102 with the Basic Comms kit and Bluetooth (those are the controls you see over the left ear in the photo). Here you see it being charged up in my office as we speak :)
With the Basic Comms Kit, you can plug in helmet-helmet comms for a pillion, plus you can set up a cellphone and an iPod together. The iPod will mute when the phone is answered
This helmet is quiet, has anti-lift, has chin wind guard and the amazing pinlock anti-fog visor system as standard. Not only that, it has a flip-down tinted sun visor. I believe it's the only sub-$1,000 helmet with that.
Nasty and I ride a lot together (hers is actually an N102 as well) so we have the Bluetooth kits for bike-bike comms as well as for our phones. The bike to bike comms distance is about 5-6 car lengths which we very seldom exceed when touring and the quality of the ride is increased a thousand fold as we explore new places and see new things

I recently tried on every helmet i could find in the auckland area.
Only a couple of models fit comfortably enough for me - Arai Astro R, and the Schuberth.
Maybe i'm fussy or got a bung shaped head (now that'd be a surprise). But for me fit is everything..... Earplugs fix the noise.

ARAI RX-7 CORSAIR. I wouldn't put my head in anything else !!!!!
I have a Nolan N102 ...This helmet is quiet, has anti-lift, has chin wind guard and the amazing pinlock anti-fog visor system as standard...
So there's the example on opinions - I reckon my Nolan to be the noisiest lid out there; certainly worse than any other hat I have owned, and bloody uncomfortable after an hour's wearing. But... it is an excellent commuting/shopping/short trip hat. But that's my opinion. Grub obviously likes his one.

Always had Shoeis. Broke one and survived (Western Springs) and grazed them a few times. The current one (in the avatar) seems to be bloody noisey and fogs easily though. I thought the older ones were quieter. They've all been comfy and stable at speed (even with visor semi up)
Best helmet for noise & overall comfort that I've had was a Shoei RF108V Kevin Magee replica. Best vision/peripheral vision was from a Nolan N34.
Worst helmet I've had & only used a couple of times was a Centurion TMX2000

The best helmet i owned was a Shuberth Aero in the late '80s. I would have kept it as a commuting helmet if i could have got more visors for it.
More recently i have had KBC VR1, this was one of the 1st sold in the country. Great construction on the helmet itself but let down by the interior falling apart and out at times. i use this now as a commuting helmet. Would seriously consider another when i am next in the market. Currently using a HJC Symax - the flip-off front type that allows you eat/drink/walk into petrol stations without having to take it off. these helmets do have a disadvantage in that they are noisier than standard full faces but with good earplugs who cares. Typical HJC quality (very good - done 2 Southern Crosses in it) and most importantly fits my bonce where the flip fronts from Nolan and Shoei didn't.

Quiet?? i have a nolan n102 and its the noisiest thing ive ever worn. Its even too loud WITH ear plugs. I only use the nolan helmet for short trips in town. The flip front is handy. For the longer trips i use a cheap 99 dollar helmet, because its much more comfy than the nolan. Bit pissed off about that actually.:bye:
