Just saw this movie today, again. AND found out it has a sequel called Shock Treatment! Its one of the best movies i have ever seen!
Dr Frankenfurter is awesome, hes " just a sweet transvestite, from transsexual Transylvania!"
what are your thoughts??

A classic movie. I'd seen it six times before I saw the Director's cut version. It just wasn't the same somehow without all of the flickering tramlines and crackling audio. I've even gone to a dress-up screening twice. Don't dream it. be it...
Susan Sarandon was hot when she was younger...

i agree, susan was hot!!
tim curry is a damn good actor too... i really admire his work!
i love dressing up, and this movie is an EXCELLENT theme to dress to!!
and its fun seeing boys in drag ;)
call me weird, but i like drag queens and transvestites...
i still want to see shock therapy... i have it on dvd, just need to watch it now... i cant wait! i hope its good!

And so what goes around, comes around. Again. It's Deja Vu all over again. With all due respect Split Enz, you're idiots. History DOES repeat.

Watching it at home on DVD is only a quarter of the experience.
You see you think you've discovered something, but I'd been to that nice little theatre in Avondale to see that movie, 30 times before you were born.
GET ORF MY LAWN YOU KIDS.

It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I've got to keep control
Oh how droll! It's the Rocky Horror Picture Show! I remember old Muldoon did the commentating for it when it was being presented here  :eek5:
I remember doing the TIme Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let's do the time warp again...
Let's do the time warp again!
And all through my formative years, I can always remember how excellent this film was!
It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let's do the Time Warp again!
Just madcap antics, excellent music and the implications was just mind-boggling :woohoo:
t's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me
So you can't see me, no not at all
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention
Well-secluded, I see all
With a bit of a mind flip
You're there in the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same
You're spaced out on sensation, like you're under sedation
Let's do the Time Warp again!
With that, I do agree - it has been too long since the last showing of this classic has been done justice!
Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let's do the Time Warp again!
Yes, let's do the time warp again! You hosting this AJ?

isnt it about some fags or somthing?
I'm afraid so...but isn't it...nice
What ever happened to Saturday night
When you dressed up sharp and felt alright - Meatloaf
There are so many levels to all the stereotypes in this film that it's not really about anything.
10/10

I think that little theatre holds the world record for showing this movie over the longest period. I recall the good old days of talking a bag with water bombs, rice and burnt toast. Utter carnage.

I remember - The Offringa Twins!

The Hollywood.
Midnight session? Hate to have been the cleaner after those nights. All the rice and newspapers... and pieces of toast - and playing cards!!!!
Ahh. Memories.
I remember old Muldoon did the commentating for it when it was being presented here  :eek5:
Were you at the show where he said "Let me take you on a magical journey" and some wag in the audience called out "christ NO! NOT AGAIN!!!"

Yep seen it tonnes of times.
I saw it live at the Aotea centre about 4 years ago. Had lots of NZ
actors in it (Mikey Havoc played the guy in the wheelchair)
I must admit I sunk right down in my seat at the end when they all came
down off the stage and grabbed people outa the audience to take them
back up onto the stage to dance....whew

Ahh the problem here is you still think you have dignity and pride to lose! Once you get ride of that illusion, nothing is impossible, downright embarassing or painful! Works a treat for me - after all, I'm a teacher!
Remember, those memories are the ones that you'll treasure for years and groan over what a tool you were!
I look forward to those moments! :msn-wink:
Now, where is that lamp-shade and Singstar? :o :eek5: :msn-wink:
Madness ... takes its toll!

 lol actually I had heeled boots on and I didn't wanna get up on
stage and "break a leg" ...so to speak. (have already done that once - and believe me pride and dignity goes right out the window at that point!)

Seen the show about 4 times, including Muldoons effort, the movie about mumble times, and done the dress up thing a few times. Bloody good fun, including the memories I give it a 9.5 on the fun scale.

OK, I think a senior forum member should kick this one along. Rocky Horror @ Queens B/day gathering.
I would post on the calender, but being dumb as dog shit, I'd push the wrong button, shut down the web site, start a power black out, and make a thousand enemies.
Plus if it's a failure, I can point the finger at someone else:bleh: :spanking: :shake:
Who's gunna run with it......
Curious_AJ
3rd May 2007, 19:14
I would run with it... but i don't really know when queens bday is... and like... i dont know a location... or anything.. i need a few suggestions on that front before i do anything.. and votes on who would deem it a good idea...
maybe i should post a poll???
