It would not be the first time that has been done
There was an Irish rider caught a few years ago witha FZR600 motor in his 400
Actually I remember the late great Robert Holden caught in Aussie racing a early GSXR1100 powered 750 in the 750 class
Of course Shaun is way beyond doing anything like that!!

Just a random question... anyone know where (as in TV/Sky) it will be shown so I can watch it...
Prime are usually pretty good with coverage of motorcycle sports, and TV3 have had the TT around 1-3pm on Sundays a few weeks after the event for the last few years

Sounds awesome Shaun. Do you build up the bike here and ship it over or is one made up and waiting for you over there?

Nicksta

Thanks for the well wishes. The bike is a rocket ship, it has full Motec ignition etc on it, that is why it puts out so many ponies

It will be the fastest 600 I have ever raced, and am really looking forward to this now

Squeak the Rat
4th May 2007, 07:59

It is now 138.7 RWHP, my mechanice has been playing with it a bit, he found that on the Dyno, it had a massive hole in the fuelling at around 10000RPM, So he got to thinking, and ended up manufacturing his own Inlet rubbers for the Fuel injection, clever little man really

mmmmm. he also builds 125cc GP Honda's His125, still has the fastest srieght line speed recorded at the Nth West 200 for a 125, from a few years ago

We used some of his tuning info, to get Dom Jone's 125 faster against Midge Smart out here a few years back, when His dad Peter, had finished doing the work, Dom could get into the slip stream of Midge, prior to the work being done, Midge would just bugger off

Kev Stevens secret pretty simple really. Get a good bike like a 2001 RS125. Don't dick around with it, but put a huge effort into making it as good as the maker intended it. No fancy ignitions, kit gear blah blah. Simple eh. Kev's bike did 238km/hr at NW 200. Lap records still stand for Steve Ward and his STANDARD 1995 RS 125 in NZ. Steve too, is a fanatic for making the bike perfect, as the manufacturer intended.
