I bought a cheap bike and it runs..... I am looking for a little help in finding parts. I see where some people think that this bike wasn't that great off road as it was supposed to be. I don't care. I am having fun. I got it running with very little work. I am guessing that it has been sitting for about 20yrs. It has a plate on it that shows it was reg. in 1976. I have no idea how long it sat.
I am looking for side covers for this bike. I have tried searching the web and have not been able to find much info. I don't think they made this model many years. I have found a site that told me my bike is in the early production run. They changed the side covers after the first couple years. Mine is (I guess) what is called a K0? it has the large covers. Please help me. Thanks. David

In New Zealand where we are this guy Malcolm http://www.econohonda.co.nz has probably the best stock of old Honda parts so try him.

SL350 was very rare in this country.

I restored a few of the 70s CB/4 series and alas had the same problems that you describe esp getting original exhaust systems. I found that I had to go out looking for 2nd hand parts and buy them then ever I could get my hands on them. I am also aware that in places all over the USA there are classic/vintage Japanese bikes just sitting around in barns/farms etc etc. Its a matter of getting out there and actively looking for them, which in a small country of New Zealand I suspect would be harder. Hope this helps.

I'm guessing you've already tried eBay, but that would probably have to be the best source as far as I know. My old man swears by it, and so far he's managed to pick up quite a lot of rare spares at some very cheap prices.

That said, Econohonda has serious amounts of shit for sale. While I was over in Australia, I asked a couple of wreckers if they had a cylinder head for my CB, they all said `no, they're rare -- but there's this guy in NZ from a business called Econohonda... we order stuff from there sometimes'. Had to laugh.

Pity I never had a ride on one of the bikes before I had my accident...
