Just came past Mobil up Pakuranga Rd and on the opposite side outside BP a White and Blue K3/K4 GSXR 1000 has hit a Mitsi FTO in the passenger door. Looks like the FTO turned across the biker.

I stopped to ask the cops if the dude was alright with the intention of offering my garage as a place to house their broken steed for the night and check it wasn't any of my mates, and the cop said that rider was ok.

If it was one of you guys, hope you are ok and not too sore.

Glad the rider is ok. I have had a couple of close calls with cagers pulling out from the BP or the Plaza without looking.

Glad they are OK. Good on ya for stopping Brett. I know what it's like to hit a passenger door!!! They couldn't close it after that! So it can happen no matter how inexperienced/experienced you are.

Saw it as well, turned around to see if it was anyone I knew and offer any assistance that I could. Front of bike was virtually gone:gob: At first I thought it was a K6/7 blue/white gixxer due to the shape of the rear but I could be mistaken. Spoke to someone in attendance and it appears that the rider has broken both legs. As Brett has pointed out from the position of the vehicles and the damage to the left hand side of the car, I'd bet that the car crossed 3 lanes to get into the petrol station and the bike hit it's side.
Hope that the rider has a full and speedy recovery - it certainly slowed me down for the rest of my journey.

Driving down that very spot 4 years agon in my nice, new to me S14 200sx a drunk bastard pulled in front of me from the BP (I was heading down towards the mobil and he was pulling a U-turn across all of the lanes). I saw it happening, pushed the car as far to the right as I could to try and gain time for him to clear while I was also hard on the brakes(all happened in a second). DUmb twat turned straight into me anyway (there was not a thing I could do to avoid him) and I slammed him straight in the door (in my car that still bloody smelt like new). I hit the bastard HARD. Luckily did no chassis damage to my car, how I dont know as his car was pretty smacked in. Guy was very arrogant about it too...I nearly beat the hell out of him.

Point is, when shit like that happens, it happens so far and sometimes no matter how good you are you cannot manouver out of the way. I suspect this guy had a similar incident.

Thank you Brett - you have just said it all as to my accident. I have been beating myself up about it as people keep saying I am such a newbie and when I get more experienced I would be able to avoid it!!! No - no matter what, I did the best I could but there was no where to go. I was there and no other biker was. I know what I did and I came off with just whiplash. Neck whiplash hurts but I had no broken bones or major injuries
