View Full Version : Goodbye L plate...
Hellooooooo 90km/h!
Just aced my 6R test at Takanini, so next weekend, there will be burning.
Oh yes, there will be burning.
Sod the hippies, sod the greenies, plastic fumes shall be known be my new favourite fragrance...
...oh, that and beer :)
To those with their tests coming up, keep it simple, as has been said in numerous threads, t'was a piece of the proverbial!
Right, off to Palmy... stay safe this weekend folks!
Congratulations! :scooter: :scooter:

Congrats! But I thought you could go 100 now?
Next weekend? Will try and make it, at least for a bit, last weekend cleaning up in Aucks, got a few things to catch up on, but will be back anyway for some KB rides.
Or will see yez in Raetihi on one of GIJoes pootling rides hopefully! I tell you, the pies are worth riding 365 ks for....

congrats Donor, thats awesome!!
Cheers all!
Would have said cheers sooner, but I literally ran out the door and shot down to Manfeild to crew for my brothers car. 6 hours and 12 minutes drive down, and 9 hours back. (Got conned into following the tow car back dammit...)
So I haven't even had time to wield a spanner and remove the damnable L from my beloved Rosey!
So I've had my 6R for 3 days, done a whopping 4km, and still have a L plate.
Sad bugger...
Still, trying to wangle a SMALL pootle next week... wish me luck! :)

On ya laddie!
Got my 6R tomorrow ... with 6 stitches in my left leg from a little gardening incident this morning! (It's a long story which still ends up in the same result - more scars! )
Now... where did that little plastic square with the "L" thingy on it go?
Yeah c'mon... the 6R club is great!
Like you'll have any probs though - pah!
(I mean, Zeocen passed...)

Yes ... :sweatdrop would be interesting to have an examiner invigilating me whilst I ride 500km+ :innocent:
"Hazards?"
"Ummm ... me pootling until your numb arsed falls off sir?"
"Pootling 500km+ at 70km/h is not my idea of fun!"
"Really sir? I never gave it a second thought!"
And oh yeah - I won't be wearing my ninja clobber! Need to make good impression and not be thinking of ways to fail me 'cause of my gear! :innocent:
Old stinky cordura for me tomorrow!

You must be pre-cog Zeozen! Yep, did the deed just now and will now be heading out to remove the L-plate and stash back under the seat!
I think a long pootle in honour of my passing is in order ... there was that 2000km+ ride I had planned, but didn't get the chance to take!

Well done Donor, now you can get rid of the training wheels as well as the " hey Copper look at me plate". Now the time has arrived for you to let the moths loose from the leather nest in your back pocket and put a couple of bevvies on for those that have supported you (hint hint)
Yeah and didnt Thunder tell you that all the new guys at work have to shout the old schoolers? hint hint... fuck that, your buying the beers!
On my paltry PTS income? Bugger that - I'll be clothing the kids in rags and old sacks for the next 6 months!
Okay, so maybe the tires for the bike could have something to do with it... plus the pantload I spent on gas and bourbon this weekend... *cough*

I thought your kids were meant to be sold off as beer money when there was an emergency? :dodge:
