As the title says... now i'm too scared to turn it on again haha. I think I know what it is sorta

I rode home from uni and there was alot of traffic more then usual, after navigating the mass of cagers, I get home and as I get down my driveway and stop. I hear a bang and smoke starts pouring out from under the seat.

after disconnecting everything, and making sure the bike is not on fire, it appears a black box has blown up and melted and stuff, now from what ive heard Im guessing its the reg/rec

Anyone know wheres a good place to try and get one? and how much it cost?

An update I pulled the rectifier out and it are blown. so that confirms that

Anyone know what other reg/rect I can use on my bike its a NC24 1987 VFR400?

I havent been able to find much on it except that it blows up alot.

Or is there someone I can PM or something to find out the info. Its a tad urgent as the bike is at my parents place and they are moving to today so yea would be good if I could get the bike working before the end of the weekend.

You can buy aftermarket ones, between a hundy and two hundy. They are often better than stock, because you have to put your own feed back into it, so it's actually got something to regulate.
