So here is how it went .... I was heading out of town this morning sitting in traffic flowing along nicely at 50kph and I was behind a Jeep Cherokee when it indicated to turn left. I kept my distance and the 4 wheel drive ute sitting at the Give Way sign on the left on the road the jeep was turning down decided to drive out into my path !! .... I saw him coming and braked, missing him by about 2 feet !! ... He didn't even look to see if I was OK or even acknowlege that he got it wrong ... he just kept going. I checked to see if there was anyone going around me and carried on my way. Now the thing that amazed me is that I wasn't on my bike .... I was driving a bloody great red Falcon stationwagon !! ... where the fuck do these idiots get their licences from ???

If anyone knows let us know.
Coming back from a long ride on Tuesday in the outside lane on Yaldhurst Rd. One car ahead of me and coming up to the lights. Left hand lane chock full of traffic waiting for lights to change when cage just stops in lane about twenty metres from the lights. No warning nothing. Bloody near rear ended her. Swerved and pulled up along side of her. Gave her an earfull and reved the bike to get her attention. Bitch just ignored me. The part that realy pissed me off is that under the law it would have been my fault. Yet if she knew where she was going she would have changed lanes way back and not tried to change close to the lights.
Hooks she probabley got her license from the same place your one did; dream land

Mate I drive to the yard in a sky blue Nissan Patrol,I get people trying to under take me,push in on me,cut me off, pass me on blind corners and hills, race me for the last spot on passing lanes, stop me merging on motorway on ramps, fail to indercate and then turn, indercate and not turn.
Then I get into a six tonne truck and they do the same shit.I drive all over AK and get this stuff ten times a day every day.If I'm not working week ends I get on my bike and get the same all over again, but not as much because I can pick my roads.
The simple fact is lots of Kiwi's of all types in all types of vehicules including bikes are just fuckwits on the road. The funny thing is I'm so used to it it's only other truck drivers or bikers that I even notice, and then it's only to get a bit pissed because it's so close to home.
As to your question about their licences, mate heaps of the fuckers don't have them.I use licences as the main form of ID when I buy cars and from an average of eight cars a day three will have no licence and not give a damn either. That might have some bearing on why it's me buying their broken car an dragging it off to the wreckers yard.
No sorry sir it's only worth $100 bucks,Aye what you spent meg'a dollors on it just last month?,nah it's fucked now aye!!! :killingme
I actualy quite like em' Their making me money.

Now the thing that amazed me is that I wasn't on my bike .... I was driving a bloody great red Falcon stationwagon Years ago, when I lived in Rotorua, I did heaps of driving (used to deliver furniture), and remember saying, "If I was in something bigger than this van and someone cut me off, I'd just plough into 'em".
About a year or so later, I was driving down Fenton Street in a LandRover with bloody great bullbars on the front, and an old lady did a U-turn right in front of me. Of course, the reactions kick in, and I had the thing practically standing on its nose (one of the LandRovers was stood on its nose once, but that's another story), with all four tyres smoking. My wife (girlfriend at the time) had her face practically up against the windscreen, and the stupid old cow in front of me didn't even notice the mayhem behind her! Just reminds me that although I believe generally driving standards are getting worse, there's always been crap drivers on the road.:blank:

Does not matter what you drive, Kiwi Drivers are shite....at looking behind them and seeing anything in their rear vision mirror
Here i am hurtling along at speed on the open road between Dunedin and Waimate in a big arse fuckin Intercity Bus....A Volvo B10, and driving along a nice long straight and there is a cage 100 or so meters in front........
There is no other traffic on the road me him, no oncoming traffic and this plonker stops dead middle of state highway 1.......wanting to make a right hand turn, (note there is NO oncoming traffic) and HE STOPS.... :kick:
And i now have both feet on the brake trying to stop before i plow in to his arse end, there is no room to the left of him. And i figure if i go to his right at that moment he will finally turn..............to his right and i will T-bone him ....arghhh What the hell would you do??????
The road is slowly being chewed up with my bus fast approaching critical impact with the arse of this car and _just_ before i run into him he moves.....turns slooooowly moving from the centre into the side road, my bus now has the two left hand wheels in the gravel ( i decided to move left) and two on the road and scrape past the guy just as he moves out of the way as he moves into the road on the right and trundles off doing 20kph....
But damn i needed to have several straight wiskeys after that...once i got home of course...
just goes to show for some people who will even miss a big arse bus sitting in their rear view mirrors.....:angry2:

I reckon when people reach a certain age they should be re-tested for their license. Granted we are all going to grow old, but if I'm going to become a danger to other road users then I'd rather know about and take the bus instead.
As for people ignoring you when you are screaming into their face about how they almost killed you, I reckon you should just smack their side mirrors about a bit, you can't do much damage and it sounds really bad from inside the car.

Cracks me up how everyone always thinks "MUST BEAT THE TRUCK" In Chch on a four lane (2 each way) road at the lights you'll see a lonely truck sitting in one lane, and dozens of cars all stacked up in the other lane. Then the 500hp Foden will take off and leave most of them behind....but they still take the other lane at the next set of lights :2thumbsup
The worst one I've seen is where a fully laden truck will be braking for a red light, and all these dickhead cage drivers will dive into the trucks lane INFRONT OF THE TRUCK WHILE IT'S TRYING TO STOP. Saw this happen once and the truck ended up with everything locked up, smoke everywhere as it tried to stop in the now greatly reduced braking area. Sad part is, if he'd hit anything, he probably would have been blamed for the accident.

Wonder if the driver ever realised if there was a bus coming up behind them? If him/her saw you coming he/she probably would have planted their foot on the brake anyway out of panic and caused a sure accident/incident.

That's a bad intersection for that sort of idiot behaviour. People seem to think they can make the lane change either left or right, right there at the lights!!! :angry2:

Years ago when I did my motorcycle full licence test......out in the car park with my trusty 250....tester arrives (old guy with what looks like the bottom of milk bottles for glasses)...
Checks over the bike with comments like "they didn't have things like this in my day"....explains the route we'll take for the test and off we go.
I'm keeping a watchful eye on my speed....indicating at everycorner.....stopping at stop lights...playing it cool
Look in the mirror....He's not even in sight...I had to wait for him to catch up.
After several stops to wait for him we get back.....He informs me that I passed because I looked like I knew what I was doing....sweet.

It is an awesome sound hearing a truck like that locked up. Pretty scary.... One the size of a quarry truck tried to turn into my lane before noticing me and locking it up.... What a sound :shit:

There was a good couple of hundred meters and i had been following him since Dunedin so he should have known i was there.....

Yep
I used to think that the bone-headed manoeuvres pulled by most cagers - cutting me off, driving straight at me etc - was because they can't see bikes.
Then I got my car liicence and noted no drop in incidences of blatant stupidity and came to the conclusion that they can't see, PERIOD.
Doesn't matter what you drive, they'll still drive with heads firmly inserted in arses and try to kill you - people drive into trucks, too.
Best you can to is buy either an armoured car (so it won't matter if they hit you) or ride a bike and be prepared to take whatever gap that providence provides you with ...

When people reach a certain age, they are retested for their licenses.
Perhaps the age should be lowered to 16! - for retests, because there are just as many young fuckwits as old!

when im in the bike, most of the time i just act like an asshole - otherwise no one see's me.
I dont like riding round town anymore, and if i can walk to where im going (i walk on average about 10K a day), i do.
Round town - if i know i can get parking, i take the corona.
People dont respect the laws of physics anymore. They use cars as a convience, not a priveledge.

Yeah I'll say there are certainly some idiots out there, was driving home in my volvo tonight with lights on and some guy walks across the road in front of me, forcing to put on the horn on and the brakes (unfortunetaly). What really bugged me was the guy was talking on his cell phone and didn't even turn to look at me, I didn't think my horn was that quiet, that he wouldn't here it over his stupid cellphone. :angry2: It was like he either didn't care or didn't see me (Don't no how you can missed headlights at night???) :done:
