I can't believe Colapop's thread on this was moved to pointless drivel, it seemed to me to be a thread we were enjoying and has a lot to do with this site and the characters that frequent it.
Do you Mod's have no sense of community and personality?
By the way, I figured you were scared off by my 70's pic so I've loaded a recent one of me and Mrs merv instead.

Man at least I didn't look like I was from your tribe then, I hadn't grown my beard at that stage.

I love it all and want more, more I tell you!!!
Yeah great. I still can't understand why with Col's thread we had a problem yet back when Zed was here we went on and on with his Scottish thread. Are our Mod's just so biased?

Well thinking I'd update my pic and then comment on it I did a search and no, the profile thread couldn't be found, so I guessed they'd binned it. What the heck use is that? It could lead to grizzles about repost from Sniper and the like, but I started a new thread anyway. This all from one who never bothered with a profile pic for 4 years until Col started that thread.
OK let's just all love each other again and keep our threads in open space.

All this talk of profile pics reminded me that although mine was awesome, it's time for a change. Out with the old and all that shit.
Of course, tradition dictates that the shot must be a Big Dave Cohen original. Nice shot. What d'ya think Merv? Make your grade?
No doubt about it Trashy, you're the man.
Hope you like my pic too coz I had to squeeze into my tux last night and basically I seemed to have picked up a lurg so wasn't feeling flash so hope it didn't ruin the pic and bikes have stayed in the garage this weekend.

shame./ I was wondering where that thread went to myself as I finally got my shit together and updated my profile pic. seems alot of threads are finding the way of PD for no apparent reason.
mine has my old V8 falcon on it, i learned to drive in it in 1975 and have owned it for around 15 years
That bike is definitely so green eh.

oh I think there's a reason
:shit:

Nah, while I say take it easy take the train I think commuting that way does expose me to all the germs of the world. There was this chick sniffling and carrying on and I tried to breathe the other way but I'd say that's about the only exposure I've had to make me crook and the shame was she wasn't even good looking.
First time I've felt slightly off for months but the brandys I've just had seem to be working a treat and I got through the function last night OK just didn't stay until the end.
Only problem with the tux is it seems to have shrunk since I bought it. My last squeeze getting into it was in Auckland in February and now last night down here. The diet will work one day dammit!!
p.s. Trashy I musta blinged you too much, the system won't let me give you any for the wheelie on the Buell until I spread some round.

Absolutely no comparison. I shall take your wind-up in the spirit I hope it was offered...
No worries Hitcher, just commenting really that some threads are left to go on and on and that thread of Zed's got very heated at times, yet it was left to be, yet Col's thread wasn't allowed to live in the open yet I thought it was a more delightful topic.

Yes, but it stayed on topic. Anything that wasn't on topic was dealt to.

Agreed Merv.
I found that thread of interest compared to alot of drivel on other threads that aren't interferred with.
I am intrigued by the logon names, avatars and profiles that members come up with. Send that Mod to the 'time-out' space.

I spent a bit of time reading Col's thread and enjoyed it for the most part, have not caught up with it being in PD until now. Some of the posts I read were not on topic, and frankly had no place being there IMHO. I guess our mods have better things to do at times than to sift through all our ravings and delete the ones that dont conform, and it may be simply a question of binning the lot. That is a shame in this instance, perhaps we could prevail upon one of the mods to revisit that thread and get rid of the crap and let us have it back!

For heaven's sake. A thread that's in PD is just as capable of being added to as one that isn't. The only difference is the colour scheme and people not getting their post count added to. Surprisingly, in most cases, that is enough to curtail discussion, which is the primary reason for threads being put there.
There are some exceptions, at both ends of the spectrum: The Scottish Thread has persisted for nearly 7,000 posts and the egregiously banal LOTPIHGAD has ticked through the 10,000 mark.
If these threads had been "censored by the Nazis" they would have long since run down the curtain and joined the bleeding choir invisible. Ditto for the crapola that mods spend hours excising from otherwise worthwhile threads in order to keep them true to the cause for which they were created, the dross being parked in the Drivel Thread for those interested enough to peruse it. However there are occasions where that is just too much like hard work to continually garden a thread and the whole thing is consigned, man and boy, to PD.
Extremely rarely is anything of the collected wit and wisdom for KB members removed from circulation completely.

You left out the fact that once moved to PD, threads no longer appear in 'new posts'. This being the way many kb'ers (including myself) browse the forum. I think you'll find that's a large reason why discussion slows once moved to PD. Does anyone other than noobs really give a fuck about post count?

Bikers don't drink do they else it might impair their judgement.

Only if they had judgement that was capable of being impaired.
