Hey all!!!

Well yeeeha, I went for my first decent ride this morning and holy hell it was awsome. I felt so alive afterwards, I couldnt stop grinning. In fact I'm grinning know just telling you guys about it.

One weird thing though, I caught myself thinking I was going pretty fast only to look down at the speedo and realising how slow I was actually going (shame).
I rode my 250 bandit up and down a long country road, then rode back to my house, I must have only been out for about half an hour and my wrists got pretty sore, my father (who rides) reckons it was becauuse I was so tense.

I cant wait to get back out there.

Cheers All!!!:Punk:

Well done. Yeah, wait till later on when you think you are doing great, decent pace, good lines etc ... then out of no-where a couple of thou's come blasting past you through the twisties like you're going backwards.:spanking:

Don't stress about your riding fitness too much, the more you ride the more comfortable you'll become.

Keep it up mate....why dont ya ride up to Woodville and back for something to do this afternoon?...or even Pahiatua, nice straight roads to learn on and get to grips with the bike and relax a bit, free up the shoulders and dont hold on sooooo tight, maybe that will help with the wrist problem, when you are riding....have a think at how hard your grip is....

Zuki.. I got my Bandit not that long ago.. and I had the same problem, I was very tense, got sore shoulders and neck.... Still learning to relax.

Give me a pm if you are interested in a ride sometime (with the rapa riders) even if its not very far, maybe even to Gladstone Pub? When I first started riding I only went out that far, but then I am a bit of a baby on my bike. I am also a learner.. we could have our own branch of the Rapa Riders... Call ourselves the Bandit Club or something :D

Cheers

nice mate...there's a few of us over palmy way so when you're keen for a longer ride, sing out - it's always on the cards that we'll be over your side of the hills, my first ride with the ashhurst lot we ended up in Masterton...and we did pahiatua, weber, pongaroa, dannevirke and woodville today

have fun, be safe, ride at your own pace and

Lots of great places to ride over here when you get a bit more comfortable on the bike. Martinborough for Coffee, Lake Ferry, Gladstone Hill Climb then up north a bit, or over the Rimutakas.

G'wan, y'know you want to take it for a longer ride! :scooter:

Ah, man, I miss that. I remember when I first got my 250 and riding along at twice the speed of sound, only to glance at the speedo and see I was only doing 65. Along with most other bikers I now have the opposite problem :)

Welcome Zuki, great to see another rider in Masterton (pity your on a su...)

I'm another of the rapa riders and like the others have said give us a buzz if ya want to go for a ride. I'm sensing another excuse to take the 250 for a run.

You know you want to go for a long ride...I just figured out the km of my planned route for brass monkey trip starting in 18 days time (2700km :D) But back on topic, once I started riding with the other rapa crew, I started clocking up heaps more km than when I rode by myself, and I think my riding improved heaps and enjoyed it more and it got better...and see what gijoe says
