I need help....I'm addicted....I have no money for food, the landlord has evicted me, my children are shoeless, my wife has left me, my creditors have taken out a contract on me....
I have been quitting some bikes I had, ' cos I don't get enough time to ride one bike often, let alone several, and there are all these other uses for the money (refer above... ) and then I saw this lovely old GSXR1100J for sale...and I HAD TO BUY IT....I don't why..it's totally stupid...but I just couldn't help myself.
She's a bit special  . The owner before last reckons he spent $14k in total on it. It's got a big bore kit, shotpeined rods, flowed and planed head (12.2:1), Dyna coils, full Yoshimura race system, 3 angle valve grind, cam grind, Barnett clutch, undercut and hardened gears, K&N filter and jetted carbs, polished wheels running Comp Ks, lots of polished bits, gleaming paint. He reckons she was dyno'd at 142rwhp (that's rwhp) and electronically timed over a flying km at 282km and has run a 10.4 standing quarter.
So....she kicks ass :devil2: and she's pre-'89 :niceone:
Now I just have to learn how to ride the beastie (big step up from a nifty fifty) :killingme
And THEN.....I saw ANOTHER GSXR1100 for sale on this very forum. This time an M, with some frontal damage...and I thought mmmmmmmm 17 inch wheels.....40mm carbies......... but no I mustn't...AH DAMMIT I'LL BUY IT....and so now I have 2......and I'm NOT GOING TO BUY ANY MORE...I'M NOT GOING TO BUY ANY MORE....I'M NOT GOING TO BUY ANY MORE....... :thud:

Hey Cajun. I might have lucked out with the M. I have yet to get seriously into fixing it up but so far looks like a straightforward fix. So then I'll have the dilemma of choosing which bike to ride ...shall I take the blue and white one...or the blue and white one..Aahhh....life is good....:cool2:

Try TVs, they're quite spectacular. Best done at a friend's house though.
Hey Cajun. I might have lucked out with the M. . . ..
Now there's an interesting phrase. "Lucked out"
Does that mean your luck ran out? or you got lucky? which is the opposite. or something else?

Yeah like bad means good & No means NO, or Yes.
Ok then what does it mean, ‘you’ve got your work cut out for you’
Presumably from dress or shoe making. Does it mean:
1. There is a lot of work waiting for you
Or.
2. Some one’s already done the cutting for you –Neat, ˝ the job is already done!
Do people get the wrong end of the stick (old English toilet saying in itself) & the meaning of the saying get distorted from the original?

Yes it IS a nice colour... and... mmmm :innocent: I don't YET have one of those water cooled ones.....and there's no LAW against having 3....and my ex-wife can't stop me......and just think of the possibilities for swapping parts if something broke....and when tyres and chains wore out.....and I could just register 1 and swap the rego details between them....and with the limited use I'd give 3 bikes I hardly ever need to service any of them...and if a bikeless friend or 2 wanted to go for a ride...and they are "classic" bikes, so they'll be going up up in value over time.....
aaahhhh so many justifications, so little money...... :weep:

Wouldn't/couldn't/mustn't/can't/shan't even THINK about another 1...unless of course it was a good deal..NO! NOT EVEN THEN!!!......unless...
Actually I heard that the earlier Gixxers were the better ones in many people's minds. And that the J (which PURELY coincidentally I own :blah: ) is possibly the pick of the bunch. But there are more opinions than models so I think it comes down to subjective things. The later ones had upside down front ends, better brakes, better suspension (more adjustability), more power and so on. I don't think I'd like to take a stand that any model was better than the other...but they do say that the aforementioned (which did I mention I happen to own? :bleh: ) J was a goodie....
Not that I'm biased......

Wow that is FINE....
Seems a slightly blasphemous thing to mess with an 888 though....
