After a two week one-night-stand tour of small otago towns on work,
I arrived home tonight (had driven from Invercargill->Auckland), hopped on my bike, and went for a ride!

Oh my. Two weeks without riding, and I haven't forgotten how to do it! yay for me.

Boy it was good to get on two wheels. My GSX is remarkably quicker than a Toyota High ace packed to the brim with heavy crap!

I missed two wheels so much, that whilst I was stuck in Picton with nothing to do for a few hours, I rented a scooter! 50cc's of goodness! hehe, i got bored of that pretty quickly. Got up to 80k with a tailwind on a downhill!

anyhoo, I'll be up for a ride shortly!

Yep, your ride is your friend and absence makes one want to twist the wrist! Just remember that a change of view is only a fuel tank away! :woohoo: Or two... or three...or four if you ride with me! :innocent:

:doh: I gave you bling but hit the button without typing in my usual gibberish ... it should read "I did the 50cc thang too when I was on Stewart Island - took it "off road" down paths scooters should never go ... when I returned it, I had used 1/4 tank, covered in mud, branches and twigs sticking out of places that shouldn't be and the helmet covered in bugs! :lol: "

Alas, no we didn't make it there. In no particular order;
Queenstown, Wanaka, Arrowtown, Balclutha, Gore, Luggate, Hawea, Riverton, Invercargill, Dunedin, and everywhere linking these places.

But we will be back later in the year. If we head your way I'll give you a buzz!

Haha, the lady told me about your types. The little scooter was pretty badly scratched up. She said that it was the result of some off road experience by some hooligans!

Blimey, those Stewie Islanders are a canny bunch, off loading that clunker to the Mainlanders! :rofl:

Was it a yellow scooter? If so, probably was the one I thrashed over hills and dales around the wop-wops of Stewart! :lol:

I even illustrated my travels in the journal logbook at the home I bunked at! :lol:

Now you do know Donor and I have a madcap escapade to Tauranga on Saturday? Early morning start and all! :rofl:

It will be a roadtrip of minorly epic proportions! I am intending to fill the car with granulated corn products, sugary concoctions of carbonated beverages and stops for those artery clogging baked products!

Huzzah!

And no-one will expect us! Not even the inquisition! Check out the other thread that Donor started!

Remember - Arrrrrr! There be no business like the pirate business!
