Hi,
Been searching through and see you can bring a cook islands motorcycle license back, and then just need to sit the practical test. Does this still apply? Is there any trouble if you have already gotten the 6L?
will be going to Cook Islands end of this month, so if I can lose a few months might as well.

If you already have the 6L - then probably - as that is what you are recorded as. Ring AA and ask them if the CI licence is still accepted.
Perfect timing fJones.
A good thread on this was just completed, the infor you want is in this post http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=1004920&postcount=12
Moderators will probably merge this thread into that one
See the thread:

I copy my experience from that thread below, but the AA don't bat an eye when you ask to convert the CI licence to a full 6. Remember to take your 6L to the CI and that will save you money and having to queue with the non-bikers to take the CI practical test as you won't need to (which with mostly waiting could take 2 hrs out your life. I did the paperwork, went to the beach, had a snack and the poor non-bikers were still doing their practical ...)
>Hi, was gearing up to put a case to LandTransport that I first passed my motorcycle test in Blegium in 1987 (20yrs this yr) and wanted to skip this long wait (lost licence years ago as was off bikes for many, many yrs) when I saw this Cook Island thread. As I had one of these ($10 only with no practical as I already had the NZ 6L) AA Albert St in Auckland did not bat an eye when I asked to convert it to a full 6. Paid $130 and took the full test yeaterday (see other thread) - totally sweet.
Total time from 6L to full - 5 months but could have been less if I had been in a hurry or read this thread earlier.
