Excellent quirky album from Melissa Auf Der Maur, ex-Hole, ex-Smashing Pumpkins.
Songs that sound conventionally pop or chick rock, quickly go all bendy and freaky maaaan. Pass me the shrrooms dude.
Some would call it Hard Rock, but it is just strange enough to avoid being lost in the general upsurge of harder sounding rock.
Things are looking up for those with a crunchy soul!!

You forgot to mention the most important bit.
She has the absolutely brilliant taste to play a Gibson guitar too!
I caught the latest video on Jim Beam 120 on Juice tonite. The guitar stuff sounded a bit weedy in the verse sections but fit nicely with the vocals.
But the choruses! Wonderfully double-tracked, the guitar parts seemed to meld together and while not having that all-out distorted sound of Smashing Pumpkins still managed to get that amazing effect they had when the two completely disparate guitar parts seemed to work together to create this beautiful noise. And lovely harmony work too. Not much too look at (waaay too skinny) but this girl can really sing.
Any ideas who was the producer Jim?
I look forward to hearing more of this album.
*sigh* So many great rock albums - so little money...

Hmmm. As in members of Queens of the Stone Age, or the members of Kyuss that weren't in QOTSA?
