Hi all, Im looking for a new pair of boots and at the moment the cheaper the better...!!:shit:
I have found a couple of budget priced boots and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either.
1: Fly Racing "Stinger"
2: Oneal Racing "Elements"

Fox trackers are about $300 I think. I got some W2's for about $300 and they have been pretty good. I just got some fox boots for free with my bike. They are pretty nice. I need to adjust the straps a little bit, but otherwise very nice. Very good ankle protection.

Gaerne, nothing better,

try to avoid the trap of going for lesser quality at a cheaper size.

what size are you ?

I got some Fly 303's which look like last years version of the stingers, they lasted good. The O'Neil Elements are pretty bad.

But suggest you listen to the guys who recommend you spend a bit extra, maybe not the SG10's :) though.

Put it this way I got some Sidi Crossfires ( same league as the SG10's ) in the states for a good price & the different was dramatic, definitely worth stretching to 250-300 if you can, you can get Aplinestar Tech 4's for $325.

o, thats not cool! i also own trackers. however mine are yet to fall to bits. hopefully they dont.

is there any sort of warranty to protect us from shit like this?

unless by falling to bits you mean worn out

If your going to be doing alot of riding, then get the boots that best fit you
i just have a pair of Oneal "Elements", i don't expect them to last long,
but they seem to be holding up ok.
CRC buckles from time to time, every little bit helps.
The money i had i my wallet at the time made them the best boots in the world.

I have had mine for around 8mths now. general riding not as often as i would have liked. i believe boots should last longer!

i had my first pair from red barron, one of the buckles snapped out near the stitching. I took it back and they replaced my boots with new ones. (very happy) the boots that they replaced them with also trackers are the ones i now have. They have split where the movement is near the ankle, stitching has popped in some area's, they are really saggy with hardly any ankle support. they look more worn then my mates 4 year old gaernes.

I have looked at new boots today. Cycle treads have the SG10's for $599 which is the cheapest that i have seen yet. Mt eden motorsycles have the same boot for $699. but they have the alpinestar tech 3 for about $300. and they are usually pretty good if you ask if they can give you a discount. i think for the money these would be the best boots i have seen.

hey Tom,
if they fit and they don't fall apart then they are all good. But once you try on a real good pair of boots its hard to go back:yes: . for example metal sole plates = comfort in my books. have you got your bike fixed up? how about a ride on saturday?

Selling them cause I don't need them - going back to a "pure" road bike when the BMW is sold. As for what they are like, well I find them superbly comfortable now but it took a while for them to soften up. Couldn't tell how good they would be off road as I tended to stay on the gravel roads but they are fitted with steel caps and tips, so could kick just about anything out of the way. Pretty water tight too.

I tried the Tech8's & could not get into them, I figured if it was that hard in the shop it was going to be even worse anywhere else.

Yeah I got the fox trackers, they are plenty comfortable once they are worn in, but....in just over a year they are now rooted, soles have fallen a part, leather is split everywhere and the buckles are constantly coming off.

I would expect if you spend $300 bucks on a pair of boots they should last longer than a year.

Yeah I am going to get some new boots at some stage, but at the mo I have to many other things I need, so I will have to make the trackers last a bit longer.

Nah cant make it out this weekend, the bike is still in bits. Getting the bracket on the pipe fixed and have got the mufller pulled to bits to do a repack.

Will be keen for next saturday though.

Id never skimp on saftey gear again. Ankle support is paramount!

Sidi Flex Force. Enough said.
