Hi guys,
Just want to introduce myself and say hi, and all that. I've just bought myself a 1988 GN250, and will be sitting my BHS next Wednesday. I work with Jim2, who introduced me to the site. Looking forward to seeing you guys on the road once I've got my wings :)

You will notice, over time, a fair amount of grief directed towards GN's... Slow, ugly, worthless pieces of crap... etc... but you gotta ask... Is it better to have a bike or go without? I know I'd rather have a GN than none at all... Enjoy your bike, the site and all the vibrancy that goes with it... Welcome.

Yeah, I'll probably be looking at a Yamaha Scorpio at some stage as they look like far better bikes, but Ill wait until I have the money for it. The GN was a pretty good deal, picked it up for $1150 which I thought was fairly reasonable. I'd imagine Ill need to spend about 3-400 on it though.
Thanks for the warm welcome.

No point going from a GN250 to a SX-4 probably about the same peformance, just ride the crap out of a GN then get a bigger bike :).
Welcome to the site, your bike looks well used, hopefully you are enjoying riding:scooter:

Welcome Wally, as a fellow GN250 owner in a past life I recon you have a great commuter... have fun, ride safe, and take everything you read here with two pinches of salt and a little immagination, second thoughts looking at the inmates, forget the immagination, its too dangerous.

Ahh yes, Wally Simmonds.
Had a look at the GN today, just a light dusting of corrosion and buggered sprockets and chain. Otherwise fine. Oddly it looks BETTER in the flesh than in the photo.
He keeps sitting on it making "brrrrrm" noises. It's very disturbing.
Welcome to KB.
