Rueben Xaus (WSBK) has been known as a bit of a crasher....I can't for the life of me see why when he rides so conservatively.....

Momentum would say that's very dangerous... I bet that'd make an awesome bin...

Well when I'm cranked over (not knee down but close) and maybe passing a car (with their consent) its not difficult at all to take the left hand off the bars to give a wave. Now to do it with the knee dragging is not too much more of a stretch......but to do it with the back wheel sliding is perhaps a bit more difficult :shit:

I had a clip somewhere of Haden riding a super-retard; he pulls a wheelie, puts it down, into a stoppie, then slides it through the corner (or was it the other way round?) And his cornering style is kewl: cross between flat-track (which he started in) and road-racing knee-down.

There is a very basic difference between you and the guy in the pic. you want to know what that difference is?

One guy thinks he is cool for crashing, the other gets paid to crash.

That was awesome to watch.
One very cool looking bike. I'm sure it's stunning to ride but what looks like it should have a fantastic power to weight ratio doesn't? It looks so skinny and super light, something like 165kg 120+hp came to mind on first seeing that vid.
The specs on the other hand show 179kg, 1100cc and it only makes 90hp (95hp with the race kit). The 1997 Honda VTR1000 put out 108hp ten years ago. My 800cc twin puts out 85hp.

Yeah, the MCN dude mentions they went for the air cooled donk for the light weight so what's with all the pork? Disappointing spec's.

Hmmm, that 800 of yours is pretty skinny, strip away the bullshit, strap on a set of Renthals to free up those elbows and you could be onto a winner MD....

Yeah maybe I should have waited for the F800ST model that arrived last week- it was ordered for me in Dec. without ABS. The ST has nice flat bars better for throwing it into corners, and without ABS it would be easier to ride hard. Sort of what Rueben Xaus does ( I wish).

No actually I'm fairly certain the guy in the pic gets paid to finnish the race not to crash.

I was gonna say skill and inteligence.

For those interested there is a good write up with more cool pics from that Sardine lunch in Italy on motorcycledaily.com (I can't be stuffed attaching the link myself, you all need the exercise anyway)
basically... they liked. Who wouldn't as a second bike or as a track day bike.
The easy fold away mirrors are a clever trick and hand guards even. What will they think of next.

The 179kg weight that they quote is tank empty, but with all other fluids...an 1100cc Ducati twin being lighter than the current crop of Jap SS 600's (according to them)...pretty impressive to me.

Well a fair few KBers turned up at Motomart tonight for the unveiling of 3 Hypermotards. Surprise surprise they were ..... red! And all sold.

I must say that the look is one of the hottest around and from any angle it oozes style. In a beauty contest of naked bikes the rest of the pack...wouldn't show up.
Some clever touches here and there. $22,000 we were told for the base model and $27,000 for the S.
I'm not trying to knock it but I think the KB committee agreed that it could never be your only bike. That's a lot of dosh to fork out and have to buy another bike to park next to it.
Not the most practical bike around. No heated grips!!
Get in for a look though at one of the sexiest bikes in town.

I commented at one stage that to adjust your mirrors (fold out jobs) you might have to get off the bike and walk out to the end of the bars.

...I think Deano was more "taken" by one of the Sport Classics and kept mentioning riding to a cafe wearing a silly leather cap and goggles.
