What is a typical day for you all?
I want to hear start to finish, a typical days events. Im curious, because KB has such a huge diverse culture to it and I just wonder, how diverse...
If every day is diferent, your most 'exciting' day this week.
Monday some guy from up North was meant to meet us for lunch, but in the end he never came to Welly, never answered our PMs and just buggered off back home. Three of us met without him and had a nice chat anyway and then we sloped off back to work. Pretty typical day really.

Woke up unsure what bus had mowed me down last night. Checked appendages all moving and had feeling and tried to remember what did happen. Moved the half eaten pavlova, the dog lead, peanut butter jar and lawnmower aside and fell out of bed. Apologised to person I fell on.
Into the shower, scrapped the pubes (ginger! eek!) off the soap and then cleaned up. Surprised at how crusty the peanut butter and pavlova had become.
Grabbed a hit from the bottle and made the mistake of glancing at the mirror. Man I needed to wake up. So I dug the rolled up hundy from my pocket and snorted up a nice hit of charlie and I was off out the door.
Got to work feeling like a leper thats walked through a car wash. Cancelled a meeting and hit the road with the excuse of a doctor visit. Well, I did visit a doctor - the doctor. I needed clarity on what happened, and where to return the lawnmower.
Doctor wasn't home, but there was a note on his door. Charlie has whizzed over to stonemans house for some brown sugar but tripped on the crack. Was that a good sign? Now I really needed to see the man. Luckily the address was on the note, so I headed into Parnell - penthouse apartment styles.
I got out of the lift and said hello to the lady in tights who responded with a deep, throaty hello. She pointed me to the right, and I proceeded into the apartment and to the kitchen. The doctor welcomed me warmly then offered me a cigarette. Colombian gypsy weed, he advised me. Grass cross fertilised with cocoa plant and carnations. What's the carnations for i asked as i took a toke, not inhaling of course.
The doctor apologised and explained that he meant dipped in acid, and pontificated on how he may have mixed the two up. Listen here doc, I said. I got work to do today and it's your fault that I'm all messed up. Now what you going to do about it. He looked serious at me, winked, and told me work can wait. It's time to get twisted.
Now i started to notice the voices. Granted some were internal, but others were audible over the music and strobes eminating from the adjacent room. We glided across the room and melted into the noise. Who are those lovely ladies I wondered to myself. The entertainment my friend the doctor replied as he jumped into the writhing mass of groaning oiled up hedonism.
Sometime later i had a moment of clarity and excused myself. I really needed to get back to work. My bosses would know i wasn't really at the doctor. They'd cover for me sure, but you can only push things so far. I got as far as the door, when the doc called out.
Sargeant, you forgot your keys.....

I get up at about 10, walk into the office at about 5 past. check my emails, crank up the sound system or cable music channels and do some design work.
Then on nice days I usually go for a ride around lunch time on a test bike.

Friday - Not your typical day...
Sleep in til 9.30am.
Shower and get dressed.
Have breakfast.
Make a few phone calls.
Ride into the city to pick stuff up.
Back home and check emails etc.
Have lunch.
Attended a funeral this afternoon, of a friend who was hit by a car, as she was crossing the road in Glen Eden last saturday afternoon and removed from life support on Tuesday afternoon.
Then visit another friend this evening, that I haven't seen for a while.
Home and have tea.
Watch tv and play on the comp to wind down.
So not your typical day at all today.

Up at 6:50 shower, quick brekky stuff my bag, and out the door, running.

Seriously?
Okay, May 8th, 5.00am alarm. Big scoff brekkie, all the woolies on, full-face (rare occasion), wets on the back seat, never got used, camera in the pouch. Off to Taupo (from the North Shore) for a photo shoot. Fog until Cambridge, cold as a frog's. Race track was cool, hit the road back north at noon. Through Morrinsville for another shoot, then home by 4.00pm. A 560k day.
My FXR is such a two-wheeled Cadillac! Not fast but oh-so comfy.
I can blather on about the Beach Hop one weekend, Kerikeri the next, then the day I've just told you about. I shit you not, I do BIG k's. Wellington, BOP, the 'Naki for the Magogs show, you name it.

I must have stupid spare time right now.
Alarm goes off about 5.30am-6.00am. outa bed, thow on the dressing gown
Breaky, weatbix with dextrose, oat bran and cold milk, washed down with a cuppa T, and maybe a piece of toast.
All while I am browsin the net, and check in to KB (used to get the paper, but 90% of the time the pages would not turn, cause it was thrown into the water race).
Dressed and walk about 50 paces to work around 7.30-8.00am. Goe check the birds are all sweet, have a chat to em, etc. Maybe weigh a few, or get into some cleaning, water blasting, inventory, paper work, maintainence, whatever task happens that I have instructed myself to do.
In between times, morning t about 10ish, log on net over a cuppa, chat to the kids and wife.
Lunch about 12pm, any later and it is going mouldy. log on the net again. chat with kids nd wife again.
No afternoon t, rather just get it one doing the above work, and finish between 4pm-5.30pm'ish all depending on what I need to have done. I am my own boss and 95% of the time work alone, staff just for stuff that I cant do alone. i.e. weighing an entire flock of birds, around 1300 birds at 12ton total weight.(a couple of guys help with that one)
walk home at the end of it, shower, play with the kids, help do some stuff about home, have dinner 5.30-6.00pm.
try for kids in bed by 7.00-7.30ish (3 and 4yrs old)
Chill time for us both doing what ever we want, and maybe at 8.30pm a movie.. whatch houswives, lost or prison break depending on the night.
Not realy a telly watcher me.
and like now, head phones on listening to music while typing like this.....
another t or coffee or two between 7.30 and bed time, which is between 10.30 and 12ish
Well thats just a typical day...
