About to buy a Husqvarna 610sm any thing to watch 4

looking at buying a sm610 husqvarna Motard, anything to watch out for ??
ive heard that getting parts can be a long painfull task ?
anything good or bad to watch out for ?
Its New with a 2 year warrinty , but thats not worth a cup full of cold piss if it spends half it not going,

A mate of mine bought a 610 (the enduro one, can't recall the model) on trade me some time ago to have feeling on the adventure riding.

He loved it, very capable bike, quite a grunty single. The only 2 things he faulted were the small capacity tank and the seat (which may be better on the motard version).

I tried it once in the twisties on the sealed road and even with semi-knobblies the thing was a dream to flick from one side to the other, very accurate steering...

After a while he decided to upgrade to a dakar and sold it on trademe. The downside of the story is that just before it reached reserve he took it out to taupo (on a trailer). Had a last blat and blew the head gasket... When he got home the auction reached reserve :sick:

The reps (motomail) reckoned it wasn't a major, they got the bits for it and fixed it. The parts took a couple of weeks to arrive though.

The positive side of this long story is that the bike was even better then when he bought it, the guy in trade me didn't complain at all...

Dunno about the Huskies but I can highly recommend motard's in general....on the right bit of road. Over the 'taka's (or something similar) or a twisty dirt road they are just fantastic, but on any normal road it seems a farkin' long way between corners, especially with what feels like a bit of 4 x 2 giving you a wedgie.

Right road - nothin' comes close
Wrong road - anything else seems preferable
