Howard might have "cooked his own goose" this time?. It's getting hard to keep a-breast of all these reports of fowl behaviour in the Police. Seems a straight copper is as scarce as hens teeth these days.

I wonder who it is that has it in for the cops so bad that they sit around digging for poo to flick?

The good coppers out there will be feeling like the media has gone animal on them. The public giving them a beasting evertime they get caught speeding.... first called revenue gatherers, then rapists, now pet-porn freaks.

It is no wonder they can't retain good and experienced staff when they have to put up with yet more attacks on morale.

Geez... I watched a porn flick or 10 when I was in my 20s back then too... :gob: guess I should resign ... so should my wife... oh, and everyone else on KB who have viewed a porn flick in their day......:innocent:

Geez, unemployment is about to go through the roof..:shit:

Start with the wanker journalist who dug this shit story up.... what a cock...

Yea I agree JJ. OK to get a tuck and cut but to watch a porn movie is a big no no. Like it's not as if he was on duty etc.

All this shit will only stop when they get a "female" commissioner of police, unless the government gets changed first!

So you think I am off the planet? Wait and see! :dodge: John.

How does the old joke go?

Erotic = tickling your partner with a single feather

Kinky = having sex with the chicken

Depraved = cooking the chicken and serving it for dinner

So a female Commissioner is going to stop males looking at stick movies??? R18 or R 16??? PGR perhaps??? What about that Happy Feet movie... there was a penguin that got "paid" for advice by having many girlfriends... Oh my god... where will it end...???!!!

You miss read me if you think I am in favour of a female commissioner for the sake of it.

If a female applicant is the best person for the job then fair enough but this government has an agenda to place as many females into power positions come hell or high water.

The attacks on male officers will continue until there is a "female" appointed to the commissioners position, or the government is changed.

Just note how female commanders are being pushed forward on the TV news to answer topical questions.

It won't be long, in my opinion, we will have a woman as Commissioner of police in New Zealand whether she is any good or not, the sisterhood are a determined bunch.

Probably too late to rely on a change of government, John Key is looking more and more like a carbon copy of Clark every day!

Hobson's choice? :shit: John.

It's not just a male/female thing in the case of the Police, but the whole sworn/non-sworn thing too. A question to be answered is does the Commissioner of Police need to be a sworn career officer? There are elements of The Peter Principle afoot here.

Patrick

The 2 I/C is a female... Lynn PROVOST, a public sector worker with no Police experience.

Not sure what the Peter Principle is there, Hitch... but I believe the boss should be a sworn cop... who knows what it is like out there in the front lines.

The Peter Principle, simply put, is that people are promoted until they reach their level of incompetence.

It is commonly demonstrated in hierarchical organisations where people are promoted up some sort of career "ladder", often without any training or demonstrated competance necessary to go to the next rung. The next rung usually comes with greater authority and commensurate reward.

Organisations such as the Police, media, education, IT, and the public service generally are notoriously bad at this. Just because somebody is good at nicking crims or teaching kids, doesn't necessarily mean that they will be a competent manager, apart from the odd exception that further fuels this practice.

Sometimes it is the result of management not wanting to lose their competent staff and therefore they promote the useless ones
