I had a party to attend in Palmerston (near Dunedin) on saturday, and I went down on from Chch on friday afternoon. It was just after the southerly had past and it was a beutiful ride (apart from the fact that most of that part of SH1 is almost ruler straight). But 6ks out of Palmerston going round a right hander I noticed that the bike felt a bit odd comming out of the turn. So a gently did a few side to sides and it felt fine. So I slowed down to 80 and did them again and doh! the back was sloppy. Stopped and found the rear was going flat. Damn! I figured I could stop a passing cage, borrow a foot pump, and go the 6ks to Palmerston and sort it out the next day. So I wave at a cage coming towards me. I noticed it was a 4x4. Noticed it had a trailer. Then I noticed the motorbike on the trailer. Sweet! Talked to the guy who was kind enough to offer me and the bike a ride to Palmerston. How friggen lucky is that? Hadn't even been off the bike for a minute and the only bike trailer I see on the whole trip just happens to come by?
So me & bike got a ride to Palmerston. Next day borrowed tools, took off rear wheel, and noticed retaining clip on chain had broken :shit:. Mates gave a lift to dunners and got a new tyre put on, since the old one was a kenda which loves to slide everywhere and it had hit the wear indicators anyway, and put on a new retaining clip. Uneventful trip back to chch on sunday.
So Trevor, if you're around here somewhere, cheers a million! Nice suzuki BTW.
