utes are cooler until you want to stop somewhere on your way to or from using your bike, then u walk away from your ute. when you come back your bike, fuel and gear is gone. it is at that moment you realise that vans are indeed much cooler

We have a ute - but we also need a trailer... With 3 riding (and at some point 4 :) ) we need more room! (Had a big van in the UK it was great)

What sort of trailer is it, is it still for sale and do you have any photos?

We're ideally looking for a box trailer... More money than a bike trailer but I think it would serve us better in the long run.

ill answer that,

by shitbox he meant its a shitpile. not a shitty box trailer

he's rebuilt a lot of it and strenghthend it up, but i think its still only good for 1 bike.

Bugger! I searched for trailers and just saw May - I didn’t look at the year!!!! (Note to self - look properly you silly woman)

Thanks for that!

I had a hunch it wouldn’t be what we were after but thought I’d ask. Would love a box trailer but after scouring TradeMe I reckon we’ll only be able to get a 3 bike trailer.

Does anyone have any contacts or recommendations, please?

Hi Nicola, my workplace can build you a new trailer of any type, check out www.frontiermotorhomes.co.nz

Thanks Cheese and arl :)

Although I am in love with those motor homes there’s not enough money in the piggy bank for a custom built trailer! Will keep looking though Google.

Should find something! :)

I saw an unusual trailer last weekend, it was the tray half of a ute with the cab/motor cut off and a tow bar added... Looked OK, but maybe a bit on the heavy side.....

ute decks are actually quite light for what you're getting as far as sides and tail gate etc go. need to get a long deck tho like off a single cab ute to fit bikes without having the tailgate down.

if you're not fussed about having to have the tailgate down tho, doublecab ute decks can be found for nothing or next to nothing - go ask your local toyota dealer
