View Full Version : Getting to CBR250R plugs

Tinkering with my CBR250R, as it won't start. The starter motor is going but it's not igniting. I managed to get one plug out, it oily and seemed fouled.
My problem is I can't seem to get to the other plugs. I have the tank off. But there's the air box and carbs on top. I'm not too sure how to get it off.
Do I unscrew the neck things on the carbs (those black rings that hold it onto the engine)?
Cheers guys :scooter:

Dunno about earlier models, but with the MC22 it's easier to remove the radiator and go in from the front.

yea, that sounds like a plan. Are there many screws?

The fairing screws, undo the radiator hoses, then the 4 bolts holding it in. If it's the same as an MC22 that is

Similar enough...... though I have found its best to set aside a few hours and find a tiny monkey to help you as the third plug requires little dexterous hands to get to!

That explains a lot, I have very dextrous hands.

if I take off the radiator, won't I be covered in coolent?
-Indy
You could drain it first or not worry coz you'll have to wash your hands later anyway after it dumps the fluid on you if you don't drain it first.

unbolt at the bottom and it "swings" out of the way enough
look on here there is a cbr manual somewhere around

This is the best way. Even with the radiator loose (not removed altogether), it still is a prick of a job to get a good purchase on the 3rd plug. Get a flexi drive (flexible socket attachment) to get around the corner.
