Been lurking for a wee while, decided to register and say hello. Nice to see that passion for the two wheels is not limited to me. I usually ride my bike as my main method of transportation; I can't get enough of it. I am not saying I am two wheel only, my '67 Daimler is a real battle when it comes to going out for a cruise. I am also angling in to pick up a '56 daimler-puch scooter... will be my next project after I have done the big end bearing on the daimler.
Have a Cook Island licence. However I am realising more and more that skill is something that comes with time as opposed to what licence/bike that I have. So I am in no real hurry, I know I need to get better before I get something that will kill me. (not that my 250 won't:scooter: )
Been enjoying the reading on skill improvment and the Wed night rides appeal. I should be there this wednesday; assuming all goes well.

Hi there welcome to KB enjoy those 2 wheels of fun. I like the skill versus time comment, but seriously consider converting that Cook Islands License, its only good for 12 months, just cos you have your full does not mean you HAVE to get a bigger bike eh?
Check out the 250 forum too!

Have found out you can use it get a full up to 12 months after it expires as well.
I am going to get some lessons and when they think I should I'll get my full. I have put on 8k in the last 9 months. Not sure if i am really any better though.

Seriously think about going to this course, it is run by some members here and comes very highly recommended, I think there is one this coming weekend?

Gudday mate, and welcome to KB. As others have said, having the licence and having the skills are two different things. Apply for your licence whenever you get the opportunity to do so, but make sure you have been on one of the RRRS courses!
Stay safe out there.
